Happy 2012!!

Happy TWENTY-TWELVE my friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! I normally don't make a list of New Year's Resolutions BUT I do want to try and be a better blogger in 2012. Hopefully I can start setting aside time to blog at least 4 times a week, maybe even 5. :) I also want to try and be a better commenter on blogs that I read. I know that I love seeing comments on my posts and I'm sure others feel the same way! I meant to start blogging yesterday, but I had the day off work and spent the day in bed watching shows on Netflix (that's right, I'm not ashamed to admit I was lazy!!) :) Side note: I am now addicted to the TV show Bones. I started watching it yesterday after my sister Mary has been telling me for a year to watch it. I think a few friends have been telling me to watch it as well, I just had never gotten around to it. I'm almost through season 1. I may or may not be watching it right now on my Netflix iPhone app.

So anyways, I thought my first post for 2012 would be a recap of my New Year's Eve! Like I mentioned last week, my nephew Danny came into town for the weekend. I really enjoyed his visit (and not just because he cooked me dinner and helped me take down my Christmas decorations). We went to the Dallas Stars game on Saturday night with some of my friends- it was a great game, despite there only being one fight.
Our view
Me and my nephew Danny (I call him my "baby nephew", even though he's only three years younger than me. He hates that nickname). ;)
Me with some of my hockey peeps!
My friend Mark saw on Facebook that I was at the game and sent me a message. He was in town and at the game with his girlfriend. He and I were "partners in crime" when we were in high school. I might share some of those adventure stories one day.
Stars win!
We opted NOT to stay downtown for the Dallas New Year's Eve celebration so we all went back to my apartment to ring in the New Year. I even gave out kisses at midnight. Well, of the chocolate variety! ;)
Everyone got a kiss from Rachel! :)
So, how did you celebrate your New Year? Did you make any resolutions? Have you already broken any? ;)

XOXO!

  3. Cute photos, Rachel! I see that the kisses were right next to Mary Poppins, my favorite. :-) Hope you have a terrific 2012!♥
