...Hello 2011!

Sorry this is so late in the day getting posted! I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve! Some friends and I went to the Dallas Stars hockey game last night. Despite a loss, it was still a lot of fun. There were some good fights! ;) After the game we hung around downtown/uptown Dallas until about midnight. Again, I could never be in New York City on New Year's Eve. I know NYC has at least a million people. I was doing good to be stuck in a crowd of 45,000 in Dallas. Good grief there were some crazy people down there. I was thankful to get home safe and sound.

Me at the Stars game.

What's a hockey game without a good fight?

Waiting for midnight. This is only a small portion of the crowd.

I don't know what I took this picture (strange things occur at 1am), but this is me without makeup (I had just washed my face). Just showing 2011 a little "sass". :)

I spent New Year's Day shopping at Kohl's (hooray for gift cards) and cleaning my apartment (I know, lots of fun, huh?) I got my Christmas decorations taken down and packed away. Earlier this evening I was finally able to sit down and watch a little college football. Speaking of  which- GO FROGS! TCU (Texas Christian University- located in Fort Worth), beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. I'm not sure how long Youtube will allow this to be up, but this is Andy Dalton, TCU's quarterback, being interviewed after the game. I love the scripture that he quoted.

Just in case the video has been removed by the time you view it, he quoted: 1 Peter 5:6:  "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time." Critics were saying that TCU didn't belong in the Rose Bowl because they were a small school- I think this win proved those critics wrong! Congrats again Frogs on a perfect 13-0 season!! :)

For those wondering, yes, I did record the NCIS marathon on USA. I'm getting ready to watch some of those right now. The SyFy network has been running a Twilight Zone marathon today so I have recorded that as well. I'm glad I have AT&T Uverse cable because I can record up to four things at once on my DVR. :)

As some of you know, one part of my 101 in 1001 challenge is that I want to read the Bible in chronological order. I'm hoping to do that this year. In case you are interested in joining me, I thought I would post the books/chapters that you need to read each day. They are broken down to a few chapters a day. I'm going to do my best to post a week's worth at a time. Hopefully that will keep me accountable! :) If you click on the verses, it will take you to those chapters on the Bible Gateway website.

Day 4: Job 1-5
Day 5: Job 6-9
Day 6:  Job 10-13
Day 7: Job 14-16

Happy 2011 friends!!

I ended up at Kohls finally too, you were right, good sales. Loved using that 20% and the Kohls cash!

On of my resolutions is to read the Bible daily. I'm using Prof. G. Horner's Bible Reading System. It's pretty neat!
