Thursday Thirteen, Thirsty Thursday and Blog Journal Day 9

This week for my Thursday Thirteen I thought I would list 13 board games from my childhood. I was never really into video games, so I played board games all the time!

1. Sorry

2. The Game of Life

3. Monopoly

4. Chinese Checkers

5. Girl Talk: Truth or Dare

6. Clue

7. Trouble

8. Triple Yahtzee (three times better than regular Yahtzee!)

9. Battleship
Playing Battleship with my nephew- 1989ish. Forgive my ugly sweatshirt! :)

10. Operation

11. Connect Four

12. Hungry Hungry Hippos

13. Guess Who

I woke up at 4 a.m. unable to get back to sleep, so I think a Dr Pepper is just what I need for my Thirsty Thursday. YAWN!

A very old picture of me and my friend Mel drinking Dr Pepper at The Magic Time Machine. We kept asking for refills, so the waiter just brought us this huge "punch bowl" filled with Dr Pepper. No, we didn't drink all of it! And yes, I am wearing an "I'm A Pepper" shirt! :)

Wanna participate in Thirsty Thursday? Head over to my friend Vic's page, Freckles and Fudge. She's awesome, you'll love her!

Day 9: A photo you took:

As always, I can't post just one. As you know, I went to my folks last weekend and got to visit with my family. Here are some more pictures of my great-nephews "C" and "E". It's a shame no one ever takes pictures of these kids (can you hear the sarcasm in my voice?)

"C" likes having of all the remote controls. He's such a guy! :)

"E" doesn't let a little post nasal drip bring down his mood!

Have a great day friends!!

  1. Oh my goodness - I loved Girl Talk! I had completley forgotten about that one - you made my day! :)

I still play most of those games. Board games are great. Happy Thursday!

  2. Oh fun! Loved your T-13!
    Have a great Thursday!

  3. can i just tell you how amazing you are....seriously i could never keep up with this many memes:) your awesome!

Those games are so funny! i remember all of them! cute em!

    and the old photo: classic

  4. I'm dying laughing because I can't for the life of me remember how to play chinese checkers. I'm a pepper, you're a pepper. Too funny, you were so cute!

    Lots of yummy love,
Alex aka Ma What's for Dinner

  5. We had all of those games except for the Girl Talk

  6. Great list! Most of those games were my favorites, too.

  7. We were very into Clue for a while around our house. And Sorry is just a classic standby!

Great sweatshirt, I say. Not ugly. Cute!

  8. I love your list! I loved trouble as a kid, my mom and I would fight over it, because she always cheated! I went to school at UT so I've been to the Magic Time Machine, though it was before I went to college there!! Love it!

  9. I loved all those games except for Girl Talk, which sadly, I did not own. :( Of course, seeing as my board game playing was with my older brother 90% of the time, the chance of regularly playing it would have been approximately 0 anyway. :)
