What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It's the first What I'm Loving Wednesday of 2018! Here's to many more posts from me this year. I'm looking for blogging motivation. :)

I'm loving...
My new One Year Bible that folks gave to me for Christmas. It has sections that you can color in- I love to color (I will never grow out of it). :)

I'm loving...
That I completed my 365 thankful challenge last year. Every day in 2017 I wrote down something I was thankful for (or something of significance that happened that day). I look forward to reading through these soon.

I'm loving...
That I'm slowly working through my 40 by 40 list. Five months to go- I need to step it up! I can finally cross another item off my list though. Number 18- try sushi (non seafood kind since I don't eat seafood). I can't say I'm now a sushi lover. Or ever liker. Maybe if I was starving to death and sushi was the only option would I ever eat it again. I wasn't a fan of the cold rice. And this sushi had avocado in it (I can't stand avocado). Oh well. I at least tried it!

I'm loving...
That even though I was sick in bed on New Year's Eve, I still stayed awake until midnight to ring in the new year (it was looking iffy for a while, about 9:30 I started to doze off). I celebrated with a glass of sparkling grape juice.

I'm loving...
My Best Nine Instagram posts from 2017. I like that they will tell you your top nine photos of the year- it's fun to look back and see which pictures people liked the most. :) If you don't follow me already- my handle on Instagram is Averyfan! :) That's also my handle on Twitter. :)

I'm loving...
After Christmas sales. I got these items for about $3 each. The Norman Rockwell book was normally $27. I need to get a table so I can work on the Star Wars puzzle. :)

What are YOU loving today??

XOXO!

March Madness Finals, Blog Challenge, and some Baseball...

I have SO much to cover in my post today, I'm not sure where to start. Due to my EXTREMELY busy weekend at The Ballpark in Arlington, I did not have time to update my blog (so I am a few days behind on my challenge). I'm gonna try and play catch up today and tomorrow so by Wednesday I'll be all caught up.

Blog Challenge Update

Day 5: The meaning behind your Twitter/Instagram name.
Thankfully, it's the same name so I only have to explain once. My handle on both is "Averyfan", named after the great Braves pitcher of the 1990s Steve Avery. If you hang out with me enough, you will probably hear me say, "for the love of Steve Avery". If you hang out with me long enough, you will find yourself saying it (true story, just ask my friends!) :)

Day 6:  What are your favorite quotes?

Day 7: Screenshot of your desktop or lock screen.
My lock screen and wallpaper on my iPhone
Like I mentioned before, I spent the weekend at the Ballpark, so three guesses what the majority of my Mobile Monday pictures are going to be!! :)

Tailgating with friends before the game!
This is a view from my season ticket holder seat. I sat there on Friday (Saturday and Sunday I had other seats).
The first pitch was thrown out by Robbie Parker. His daughter was one of the victims at Sandy Hook. He's from Texas originally and he and his family are big Rangers fans.
I love the flyover during the National Anthem.
Baseball buddies
The Academy of Country Music Awards held a contest on Instagram/Twitter. If you took a picture with a "Flat Luke Bryan" or "Flat Blake Shelton" and posted it with the hashtag "FlatBluke", you were entered to win a prize package. Winners are announced this week. These were my three submissions (yes, I'm a nerd).
Pictures from Saturday's game
More baseball homies!
Believe it or not, I did more than just watch baseball this weekend. Saturday night my friend Robyn and I went to see Jurassic Park 3D. I remember seeing the movie in the theaters 20 years ago when it was released. I probably hadn't watched it in maybe 15 years. It was still good!! :)
My Sunday view at the Ballpark. I texted my Aggie sister that Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel threw out the first pitch.
Some of my baseball besties...
Always love meeting my Twitter peeps at the game.
I told Chance this was my new favorite picture. I also told him I'm just using him for his son Cam (who is the cutest thing ever). ;) Thanks for letting me share this one on here Chance! :)

I know you've all been waiting for it. My picks for the March Madness Championship Round. I have to admit, I was even a little shocked at my final choices. I filled out my complete bracket before I started posting about this a few weeks ago (so I have enjoyed when people thought they knew who my picks would be and I was surprised some of your picks were the same as mine). So, here you go...

**insert dramatic music here**

I KNOW that my Twitter peeps are going to be in shock that Craig Gentry got eliminated. I myself was a little shocked. It happens though. I will announce my March Madness Champion on Wednesday!

XOXO!!!

It's OK...

It's OK...

...that even though I really don't want to have Time Warner Cable (but have no choice in my new apartment), I signed up anyways. The customer service representative was really nice, I even talked to their supervisor and gave them a "kudos" for a job well done (I've done customer service- it's a sucky job, I have to give credit where it's due). They are coming out on Sunday to hook it up. We shall see how this goes. I promise to write a full apology to Time Warner if I end up not having any problems.

...that I'm sad I can only record two shows at once with Time Warner. With my Uverse I could record up to four things at once. I'm gonna have a problem on Wednesday nights when Duck Dynasty, Psych, and CSI are all on. I know, I watch too much TV.

...that I'm trying to blame the dreary weather on my on again, off again, bummed out mood lately. The clouds have cleared and the sun is now shining, it's time for me to cheer up! I get the keys to my new apartment in less than 24 hours. 2013 is gonna be a year of new adventures for me! It's my year! I'm not gonna let anyone get in my way! :)

...that I'm really excited I was able to buy this Rangers hoodie with a gift card that a co-worker gave me.

...that I posted this as my "throw back Thursday" picture on Instagram. My nephew might kill me though (he and I are three years apart in age).

Eating homemade Popsicles, circa 1982. I censored it so it was Internet appropriate. :)
...that I'm still stressing over my move this weekend. I'm worried I won't have enough help to move my furniture (I have really heavy furniture). I know it will all work out and in 48 hours it will all be over with!

....that thanks to a text conversation earlier with my friend Andrew, I've been listening to dcTalk songs via YouTube all afternoon.

I used to rock out to this song in junior high. Ah, memories!

February Photo Challenge Day 1

I found this awesome blog by Tori and decided to participate in her February Photo Challenge! You should check out her blog, it's great! :) She is my newest blog to follow. Since I don't have internet access where I'm currently living, I'm not sure I can post on the weekends, but I'm gonna try. I might have to get caught up on days two and three on Monday, we shall see!

If you would like to participate in this challenge as well, check out the link here.
Day 1: Friend
Me and my BFF Mandy (and a few pics of Miss E)
I like that Tori starts each month with a list of goals. In order to complete my 101 in 1001 by August, I've decided to steal borrow that idea. For an update on how I'm doing on my 101 in 1001, check it out here. I don't think I'll get it all done by the end of August, but I'm pleased with my progress. I also plan to add a few things NOT on that list to my goals for each month.

Personal Goals:
- Get caught up on my daily Bible reading (I hate that I've gotten behind and it's only the first month of the year!) Ug! I'm so bad. This year I'm reading the Bible cover to cover (a few years ago I read it in chronological order, which was interesting).
- Have dinner with a friend who I haven't seen in a least three months.
- Write at least 10,000 words in my story. You might not know, but I used to write short stories when I was younger. And no, no one ever really read them. I have a friend encouraging me to write again (and even let others read it). It's not as easy as it sounds. I've been stuck for a while.
- Read at least ONE book that I haven't read from the 50 banned books list (I've been so bad about this).
- Get moved into my new apartment (okay, I know I'm moving in a few weeks, I just had to put something that I KNEW I could get accomplish). :)
- Make new friends at the church I've been attending the past month.
- Cut back on my Dr Pepper drinking (I'm typing this as I'm drinking a Dr Pepper).

Have a great weekend my friends!

XOXO!

Do you Instagram?

Happy Friday! We survived another work week!! Well, I did at least. I'm looking forward to another weekend of just hanging out with my friends.
So, do you use Instagram? I first started using it about a year ago just to put borders and cool effects on pictures from my iPhone. Since then, it's just another social media network I am addicted to use constantly enjoy from time to time. If you aren't familiar with Instagram, I'm gonna be lazy and make you read about it on Wikipedia here instead of typing it all out. Basically you can upload a picture from your phone, make it all fancy and nice with a border or cool effects, then you can post it for friends (or total strangers) to comment on. That being said, be careful WHAT kind of pictures you upload. I had a friend who didn't realize his pictures were public and let's just say he found out the hard way that just anyone could view them. BUT, for those wanting to use Instagram just for the cool effects and borders, you CAN make it so your pictures are private and don't post to your account (meaning only YOU can see them). To fix your Instagram privacy settings, click here for a tutorial. It's very simple.

Anyways, if you ARE on Instagram and feel like following me (that sounds so creeper-like, doesn't it), my user name is Averyfan (I know, you are shocked that would be my username, huh?) :)

Here are just some of the pictures I've posted on Instagram over the past year. If you follow my blog regularly, some of these will look familiar! :)

Some friends and I ran into former Rangers (and Braves) player Jeff Francoeur at a Walgreens. He is very lovely.
