It's OK Thursday!

I haven't done one of these in forever so here I go.
(I know it's not an official link up anymore, but I'm still doing it).

It's OK...

...that the Rangers have gotten rid of some of my favorites. I will be okay. Baseball season is almost here and everything will be okay (I figure if I say it enough times, I will believe it). :)

Yes, even Craig Gentry is gone. You won't believe how many text messages and tweets I got the day he was traded to make sure I was okay.

...that the Rangers renamed The Ballpark to Globe Life Park. Everyone will still call it the Ballpark anyway.

For the record, I had NEVER heard of Globe Life Insurance until they bought the naming rights to The Ballpark. Interesting enough, the next day, I got an email from Globe Life Insurance. Guess someone sold my email address.
The text message I received from my Bubba about the new name. I'm not sure if he was that passionate about not liking it, or if his phone sent the text more than once.
...that my office sent us home early because of snow and ice last week. I took this picture on my way home. I never want to live any place where this amount of snow won't send me home from work. :) For the record, I take back streets to get home, so those roads were not as bad as the highways. Also, there was more concern about ice forming later in the day.

...that I can't seem to go into a bookstore without buying something for myself.

I have never read The Wizard of Oz so I bought it to see how different it was than the movie (I'm halfway through, there are some big differences). I also have never read H.P. Lovecraft, but he has been compared to Edgar Allan Poe (who I like). I'll let you know what I think.
...that I'm the only person who takes antibiotics and thinks "Oh, these are pretty colors".

Hoping my sinus infection goes away soon. I've been miserable for about a week!
...that it took me so long to get a library card in Dallas. I went by yesterday and checked out three books. I may or may not be over halfway done with one of them already.

...that I haven't done my book review from last week. I'll get to it this weekend. I'm too busy reading. :)

...that doing this post has made me miss blogging. I've been trying to get back in a writing groove. Maybe this will start something! :)

XOXO!!

It's OK Thursday...

It's OK...

...that I was brought to tears with all the sweet comments, tweets, emails, and messages y'all sent after my post yesterday. If you missed it, click here to read it. Thanks again for the support, encouragement, and love. I love you all!! :)

...that I'm sad It's OK Thursdays are going away at the end of May. I may or may not still throw one out every once in a while. I'm sure Neely and Amber wouldn't mind! :)

...that I had a giddy school girl moment when actor Charlie Schlatter followed me on Twitter (yes, it's really him). I absolutely love him! He was on the TV show Diagnosis Murder (with Dick Van Dyke). I had tweeted at him that he needed to do a reunion Diagnosis Murder movie with Dick Van Dyke. I also want to tell him he needs to help get the remaining seasons on DVD. Right now only seasons 1-3 are available. I know, I know, I'm a nerd! :) I can't help it, I loved that show!

...that I took last Thursday and Friday off work and didn't really tell anyone (well, my BOSS knew I was going to take the days off, I just didn't make a big deal out of it to anyone else). I just wanted a few days to do absolutely nothing. It was great. I spent some quality time with my DVR. ;) I also went to visit a friend of mine who has in the hospital. I'm happy to report he is home now and doing better! :)

...that I spent last Saturday (which would have been Audrey Hepburn's 84th birthday) watching her movies that I own on DVD. And I possibly had a chocolate milkshake from Chick Fil-A.
I don't know if I could pick a favorite, I love all her movies. If you aren't a fan of "old" movies, at least try Wait Until Dark. It's great!!
Why yes, those are The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Waltons DVDs in the background.
...that the first thing I noticed in the Rangers souvenir yearbook was that they had Craig Gentry's birth year wrong. It should be 1983, NOT 1993. He's young, but not THAT young.

Love the yearbook this year!
...that I took a picture with one of the ushers at the Rangers game because he reminds me of Moonlight Graham from Field of Dreams
His name is Don and he is so sweet. He is the usher on weekends for my season ticket holder section. He was honored I wanted a picture with him. :)
Burt Lancaster as Moonlight Graham in Field of Dreams
...that I was excited to be at the first walk-off win of the season for the Rangers!

...that I've already been to nine Rangers games this season. They are 7-2 when I am in attendance.
Me and my baseball homie Monica!
Have a wonderful day friends!

XOXO!

It's OK and Blog Challenge Day 11...

It's OK...

...that I'm looking forward to a weekend of doing absolutely nothing. Like I said yesterday, don't even bother calling or texting, there is a good chance I'm not answering. :) Okay, I'll probably answer a text, but I'm not leaving my apartment. There is a good chance I won't even change out of my PJs on Saturday! Don't judge.

...that I went to five Rangers games in a row. Despite being exhausted, I regret nothing. Even though I say I would never do that again, I probably would. :)

...to wait 15 minutes outside in the cold for a $1 sandwich at Jimmy John's (so worth it).

...to love the text conversations with my sister!

She is so turning into our mom! :)

We were texting during Duck Dynasty! :)
...to be unsure how I feel about Craig Gentry shaving off his beard. I usually like guys clean shaven, but this makes him look really young!

...that when I procrastinate with my workout and diet, I can't seem to start over again until the following Monday. It's like diets can only start that day, I can't just start over midweek. Makes sense, right?

Blog Challenge Day 11: What was the last movie you saw in the theater?

Last weekend (when I actually wasn't at the Ballpark), I saw Jurassic Park 3D. I swear it had been at least 15 years since I had seen the movie. I read the book my freshman year of high school and then I saw it when it was released the following summer. I do remember that pretty much EVERY high school marching band played the theme song from that movie at some point over the next few years.

Throw Back Thursday!

Me and my friend Justin taking a ride on our Big Wheels. This was circa 1982 or 1983!
Have a great day!

XOXO!

Mobile Monday, Friday Edition...

I've been told I needed to update my blog, so I decided to give you "Mobile Monday" on a Friday (it's my blog, I can do what I want!) :) Pure laziness is the only reason I haven't updated my blog in a week. There has been something about going home and doing absolutely nothing that has been very appealing this week. Side note: I have gotten up early and worked out the past two weeks. I'm so proud of myself. I'll admit it's nice to get home from work and NOT have to worry about working out. Although getting up early is a beating. Maybe it will get easier.

So, here is what's on my iPhone this past week:

I decided to finally unpack the spare room at my new apartment last weekend. I call it my "study". This was the before picture.
I know, scary, right? I put a note on Facebook that if I was never heard from again I was lost somewhere in this room.
After working hard all afternoon on Friday, I finally had one corner organized. Yes, I have a lot of books. No, that is not all of them (there is another bookshelf not pictured).
That wall is where I have some of my "non sports" autographs. They include Dick Van Dyke, Bryan White (country singer that I met back in the 90s), Christian band MercyMe, and an actress named Deanne Bray.
Had lunch with some friends on Saturday. I was feeling cute that morning, so I took a picture. ;)
How you doing?
After lunch, I spent the rest of the day organizing my study (let's be honest, it's really a sports room). :) I literally spent about 6.5 hours getting it all put together. BUT, it's finally done (insert happy dance).

For those wondering, I got that "Thespians Do It On Stage" bumper sticker when I was in high school. I was in the drama club, they gave those to the seniors every year. We won't mention how old that bumper sticker is! :)
I tried to get a panoramic picture with my iPhone.
My bobbleheads. Looking forward to getting more at the Ballpark this year!
For those who didn't believe me, my Washington Senators pennant autographed by Ted Williams. Yes, it is one of my most prized possessions. :) And yes, that is a comic book with Steve Avery on the cover below the shelf. :)
My sister texted me this picture of five of my nephews at the park. I wish I would have been there with them! They are Aunt Rachel's sweet boys (well, most of the time)! ;)
Dove chocolate has a "fortune" inside each wrapper. Not sure how I felt about this one.
Look what came in the mail this week!! :)
And look who made a ticket!! ;)
My new cap finally came in. I bought it from the Broadway musical Mary Poppins. I think it sums me up quite nicely, don't you think? :)
I love my new weather app (and the temperatures we are having right now!)
I saw these online after the new Pope was selected. I have Catholic friends who found these funny, so I don't feel bad about laughing. Come on, God has a sense of humor too! :)

My poor sweet Tony Romo, always the butt of jokes around here.
Come on, this is funny!!

My niece Alice texted me this picture, I sighed laughed! :)

Okay, I promise to be better about updating next week. Sneak peek- I'll be conducting my own kind of "March Madness" bracket. ;) I can't believe I'm actually going to post it on my blog (it all started as a joke with some friends, BUT I've been convinced to put it on here. Yes, I'm a nerd (and so are my friends!) :)
Stay tuned next week....
Happy Friday!!

XOXO!

It's OK...

It's OK...

...that I have possibly been watching Dawson's Creek on Netflix (don't judge). My college roommate and I used to watch this show when it was on originally (back on the good ol' WB). Oh, the teen angst in this show makes it almost unbearable to watch, yet, I'm starting on season 3.

...that I'm a little bothered that due to copyright laws, the intro to the show on Netflix isn't the same as the original. I don't know what this bothers me, but it's just not the same.

Original theme song, "I Don't Wanna Wait"

Netflix intro, "Run Like Mad"

...that I've wasted space on my blog talking about Dawson's Creek.

...that my first thought when I see an ambulance outside my office is "Are the paramedics cute?" Oh, for the record, one of them was kinda cute- he walked by my office area as they were arriving. And for those wondering, the person they were called to check on is doing fine now. :)

...that Miss Kay was possibly my favorite character on the episode of Duck Dynasty last night. She cracks me up!

...that someone got my nephew C a Duck Commander shirt to wear on Duck Dynasty night!
I'll use any excuse to put a picture of one of my sweet boys on here! :)
...that I've had Luke Bryan's new CD on repeat in my car since I bought it yesterday. :)

I think the picture says it all. :) 24 days until Opening Day!
...to randomly put a picture of Craig Gentry on my blog (thank you Chance for texting it to me!)

...that I'm taking tomorrow off work to wait on Time Warner Cable (they installed the wrong DVR so they are coming back to replace it with the correct one). This might count as a strike against them, BUT, they did admit it was their mistake and (obviously) are not charging me for the visit. Hopefully I will use this time off to actually unpack and not sit on my butt watching Netflix (like I did last weekend). I've had a case of laziness lately. One of these days I'll get my apartment unpacked and decorated (and yes, I will post pictures).

...that I'm proud of myself for getting up early every day this week and working out (thank you Turbo Jam). I'm trying hard to get my workout done in the morning so I can keep my evenings free for all the dates I'm going on all the TV I have to watch. I live SUCH an exciting life, right?

What's OK with you today??

XOXO!
