What I'm Loving Wednesday

One of these weeks I'm going to post on a day OTHER than Wednesday. I'm not even lying when I say that EVERY DAY this month I have some kind of plans. My day planner has never looked so full. Lol.

I'm loving...

That I finally went to a Rangers game with my sister Mary. We've been trying to go for about four years now and it FINALLYworked out that she was in town during baseball season WHILE the Rangers were in town. We had fun! It also worked out that it was Texas Tech night at the Ballpark that night. Both of her sons go to Texas Tech. Well, they graduate next weekend (one from undergraduate school and one from law school). We got special Rangers caps with the Texas Tech logo on them (which are being given to my loving nephews as their graduation presents). While we were sitting in the lower concourse area, I thought I saw Kliff Kingsbury (the Texas Tech football coach) walk by. Turns out, he WAS walking by (so of course, I went over to get a photo). I'm sure this shocks you! :)

Me and my sis showing off our new caps. Well, they were ours for about five minutes until my nephews texted that they wanted them. I'm such a loving aunt to give mine up. :)

Me and Coach K. Yes, I am aware that he is a beautiful man
I'm loving...

That I finally met my great-niece L. She is the daughter of my niece Naomi. She just turned one a few months and this was the first chance I've had to meet her. She was a little unsure of the strange lady who kept taking her picture, but she eventually warmed up to me. :)

I'm loving...

That I was able to celebrate with my niece Lydia at her college graduation last weekend! I"m so proud of her! I also go to see Lydia's two sisters Rebecca and Naomi AND Rebecca's son J. I haven't seen J in two years- he's getting so big! He wasn't as willing to take pictures like Miss L. Lol.

With the college graduate!

He wanted nothing to do with the picture taking. Lol
My beautiful nieces!
I'm loving...

That I got to tailgate with my Rangers Twitter family on Saturday. Words cannot describe how much these people mean to me! I love them so much!

Jim Knox from Fox Sports Southwest stopped by to film our tailgate. I don't think we were as loud and crazy as he wanted us to be. Lol
This is Randy- he's the son of my friend Bob (I just realized I DIDN'T get a picture with Bob on Saturday). Randy is awesome and a local celebrity. He was recently on the news when his classmates surprised with him tickets to a Mavericks game. He's Dirk Nowitzki's biggest fan. So if any of my sweet followers have a hook up with Dirk, let me know so I can help make Randy's dream of meeting Dirk come true!
I was able to see my friend Janie at the game!
I sat with my Rangers partners in crime at the game on Saturday. We were happy that even though our closer blew the lead in the 9th inning, the Rangers were able to win with a walk off home run in the bottom of the 10th!
I'm loving...

The birthday gifts that my sweet Rangers Twitter family got me on Saturday. My birthday is this coming Monday, but since we were all together last weekend, they surprised me with some gifts. I got these awesome Rangers shoes pictured below, a gift card to Whataburger, and six 12-packs of Dr Pepper. They know my top three loves in life! :) They remembered on a blog post last month that I wanted these shoes so they all chipped in for it and the gift card. What's funny is that I knew we were surprising two other members of our group who have birthdays coming up and I didn't even think about them doing something for me. The thought never crossed my mind. Lol. I feel so loved!

We were all surprised! :)
I'm loving...

That I got to meet my sweet Twitter friend Paul. We've been Twitter friends for almost six years now so it was nice to finally meet him in person! He was in town last weekend to see the Rangers/Blue Jays series. And thanks to Paul, I got a reply from Steve Avery on Facebook because he and I were tagged in the same post (I'm not even gonna pretend that I kept my cool when that happened). Lol. Yes, I'm a nerd, I've accepted that.

I'm loving...

That I've made a smoothie for breakfast every day this week. I finally took time Sunday night to divide up the fruits for each day so they were just ready to be thrown from the freezer into the blender. I love these Ziplock bags that show you how much is in it.

I'm loving...

That I got to go to a musical performance on Sunday with some friends. I didn't even know that Theater Arlington  existed, but it was a cute little theater and the people who performed did a great job. They sang some of Frank Sinatra's biggest hits. Check out future shows on their website

I'm loving...

That I woke up to this temperature this morning. It was unusually cool for the middle of May in north Texas. :)

I'm loving...

That a friend of mine is spending my birthday evening with me next Monday at a Rangers game! I haven't seen him since DECEMBER so I'm super excited about it!

What are YOU loving today?

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent Friday night at home watching baseball (I don't want to talk about the outcome of that game), and I also worked on my novel a little (well, short story, I don't think I'm ever gonna have enough written to call it a novel). I'll never complain again when my favorite authors take time getting their next novel published, this is hard to do!

Saturday I pretty much stayed in bed all morning and most of the afternoon watching college football.
For some reason, my TV looks really tiny in this picture. It's a 32 inch flat screen, so it's not that small.
I also had college football discussions via text with my nephew James.

If Baylor running back Lache Seastrunk ends up winning the Heisman, this is proof my nephew and I thought early he was a good candidate! :)
Saturday evening I finally pulled myself out of bed away from the television (for a while at least) and met up with my friend Theresa. We went to college together and hadn't seen each other in about 13 years. She and her husband were in town for the weekend so we met up for dinner. It was great seeing her, we have promised it will not be 13 years between our next visit!

Theresa's dog Tux insisted on being in the center of the picture
After I got home, I spent the rest of Saturday evening watching baseball (again, don't want to talk about the outcome of THAT game either) and college football. I wish the Texas Tech game was available on my cable (and I'm not just saying that because I think the Texas Tech coach is good looking- which he is). That game would have been been better than the UT game or the Notre Dame game (I have two friends who are Notre Dame fans, I seem to keep up with the Irish now when it comes to football. The things I do for my friends). :)

Random picture of Texas Tech football coach Kliff Kingsbury. See, told you he was good looking. Wreck 'em Tech. :)
Sunday morning I was up earlier than usual, so I decided to get a breakfast taquito from Whataburger before church. I wasn't the only one with that idea.

Well worth the wait...
Church went really well on Sunday. I got to sit by a buddy of mine (we both discovered recently that we attended the same church-it's a big church, it's easy to miss people in the crowd). After services, I had a great lunch with one of the lovely ladies from my Bible study before we met up with the rest of our group. It was kind of what I needed after my week last week (I might have mentioned I was feeling blah last week).

I finally went grocery shopping (we won't say how many weeks I've been eating out because I've been to lazy to go to the store). I actually cooked dinner last night. Boom!

I wonder if my back left burner feels like a red-headed stepchild. I never use that burner. Am I the only person who only uses the front right burner?
Last night the Cowboys were the Sunday night game of the week. I know, there are a lot of Cowboys haters out there. I can't help it, I've been a fan too long, why give up now. I'm also an unapologetic Romo supporter. I think he gets the blame for a lot of things that are not his fault (not saying that he doesn't deserve SOME of the blame- he's not perfect). But alas, I can't help but love the man (although he breaks my heart every year). Last night I had a range of emotions during the game (that usually happens when I watch Cowboys football). I didn't get a picture of all of my facial expressions, but here are a few. I was entertaining a friend during the game by texting him. He thought it was funny I was throwing things (my brush possibly went flying across my room at one point. My college roommate will verify I do throw my brush if I get frustrated during sporting events).

The picture to the left is how I looked whenever the Cowboys couldn't take advantage of a Giants turnover. The picture on the right is a happy Cowboys fan after they held on for a 36-31 win.
Yes, I did take a picture of my TV during Romo's postgame interview. Don't judge me.
I'm looking forward to this week. I'm going to three Rangers games (I cannot believe the regular season is just a few weeks from being over- where did the season go?) The Rangers BETTER hold on and make the playoffs this year. I spent an un-godly amount of money on post season tickets (I have no self control) and I want to use them. My folks are also coming to town this weekend- they have never seen my new apartment. I'm actually taking them to the game on Friday night. I bought them new Rangers shirts for their anniversary. I'll post pictures of them next week- they are adorable. :)

How was your weekend?

XOXO!

It's OK Thursday...

It's OK...

...that it's less than two hours until the second Christmas luncheon of my work week, and I don't feel like working.

...that I'm so annoyed with this person calling me that I'm posting their number on my blog. I have no clue who it is. They don't leave a message. I did Google the number and evidently it's some telemarketer. So much for being on the Do Not Call List.

...that I am hoping for a Christmas miracle and the Rangers sign someone good. After losing Michael Young and Mike Napoli, as well as not signing one of the big name free agents, I'm slowly slipping into panic mode. In JD we trust, In JD we trust...

...that I haven't really done any Christmas shopping yet.

...that I'm excited Kliff Kingsbury is the new football coach at Texas Tech. There is a good chance my nephew Jake might play for the Red Raiders next year. I know he's excited about the new coach (well, his older brother is at least). Wreck 'Em!

Coach Kingsbury
...that I enjoy having long text message conversations.

...that I really want these rain boots. I've never had a pair before, but I would totally wear these. Possibly even if it wasn't raining.
I know I'm going to break down and get them, I hope they are still available at the MLB Shop.
...that I'm posting a random picture of myself on my blog today because SOMEONE pouted that I didn't post one yesterday. ;) Yes, I know, another duck lip picture. I do that a lot in pictures, don't I?

How you doing?
...that I think you need to listen to my friend James David Carter's version of Winter Wonderland. It's awesome! Follow him on Twitter here. Oh and tell him he needs to come to Dallas for a concert! :)

...that I can't remember the last time I updated my blog four days in a row!

XOXO!!
