Never Ever Ever...

...will I NOT enjoy a Brad Paisley concert. His concert Saturday night was awesome!
Lee Brice and Chris Young opened for Brad. They were great!

Chris Young is there somewhere!
Brad!
Me and Laura looking adorable in our cowboy hats!
...would I have believed that Geovany Soto would snap a Rangers four-game losing streak with a walk-off home run! Hello win column (finally!)

...will I NOT sigh when I see a picture of Luke Bryan. There is a reason he won my Men Madness Bracket! ;)

Luke Bryan playing baseball...even better. :)
...will I understand guys. Men always say that women are complicated, but I beg to differ- you guys are just as confusing. Yeah, there is a story behind this. No, I'm not going to share.

...will I NOT laugh at something that makes fun of Ford. :)

...will I pass up an opportunity to take a picture of me wearing a hat. :)

Happy Tuesday!

TGIF...............kinda...

Normally I look forward to Fridays. For one, well, it's the start of the weekend, and two, I am normally off work by 11:30a. This week is a little different. I'm having to put in a lot of overtime this week, so I will be at work until 10:30 tonight AND I have to work Sunday 9-5. If you don't hear from me at some point next week, I didn't survive. :) It's okay, I don't really mind working the overtime, it's just for a few weeks. I AM looking forward to tomorrow night though (my one day off work). My friend Laura and I are going to hopefully see Brad Paisley in concert. We tried to go last year, and it got rained out. It's raining right now, but the forecast is predicting it will be sunny tomorrow. Like I've said before, I try not to complain about rain in Texas during July, BUT I am making deals with the "weather gods" so the concert will go on. I've been to several Brad Paisley concerts, he usually puts on one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm really looking forward to it! :)

Me and the BFF at Brad Paisley concert in 2010
Me and Lyn at Brad Paisley in 2011
Me with Khrystal and Laura before the rain started last year at the Brad Paisley concert
We waited two hours only to have the concert canceled. :(

Thought I would post some Brad videos for your listening enjoyment today! Happy weekend!

XOXO!!

Phone Photo Fun Monday

Here is what is on my phone this week:

Storms heading my way on Friday evening...

Saw this shirt at Kohl's on Saturday. I had to text a picture of it to my friend Laura (one of my favorite Longhorns). :)
The storm clouds on my way to the Brad Paisley concert on Saturday evening...the closer we got to the venue, the darker the clouds got...

A picture of Khrystal, Laura, and myself before the rain started...

Even in the rain we still look cute...

The rain got so bad they moved everyone out in the lawn area to the covered seating area...

Thanks to my friend Laura for letting me steal these pictures from her blog! :)
Taking pictures while waiting to see if the concert would go on...
Me and Laura
My poor hair, it looked so cute at the beginning of the evening. Khrystal's hair still looked cute, despite the down pour (so not fair!) :)
We told Aaron there was no escaping a picture!
After two hours of sitting in the rain, they had to cancel the concert due to safely reasons (one of the main reasons was that the roof area covering the stage was leaking, and there was standing water). :( We were told to hold on to our tickets because the concert would be rescheduled. Oh well, I still had fun hanging out with friends.

So, I've decided to make a wreath that I saw on Pinterest. We will see if I actually get it done, but I purchased the wreath base from Michael's on Sunday (if I actually get this made, I'll post pictures!) :)

It was a wonderful 68 degrees this morning. And the high tomorrow is supposed to only be 82. Is it Fall already?? :)

Have a great week y'all!!

XOXO!

It's OK...

 It's OK...

...to avoid talking about my personal political beliefs. I'm so ready for this stupid election to be over so Facebook and Twitter can return to normal. I respect people for whatever they believe, but I am SO SICK of all the bickering and name calling going on in social media. Please don't tell people they are stupid or incompetent because they believe something different than you. And don't post something political and then act surprised when people disagree with you. Let's just agree to disagree and keep politics out of our friendship (whether it be real or online). You aren't going to change my mind, I'm not going to change yours. Some of my best friends and I disagree on politics, but we don't focus on that, we focus on what we have in common. **stepping off soapbox**

....to start my It's OK post by venting.

...that I skipped my workout last night because I didn't get home until after 8pm and was just too tired.

...to post this link yet again to help out my friend Brian's fundraiser for Make-A-Wish.

...that I think this is a cute picture of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and his baby boy, Hawkins.

...that I get bummed when I go shopping and can't find any of the cute outfits I see on Pinterest.

...that I'm kind of excited I won this purse at work. I've been told it's being shipped to me. I have lots of baseball purses, this will be my first football purse.

...that I possibly dance around my apartment whenever I hear this song.

...that even though I don't understand Craig Gentry's nickname of "Kittenface" (someone on Twitter gave it to him), I think he looks adorable in the "Kittenface" T-shirt he got this week.
He's doing the "duck lips" all wrong, I need to show him how to do it! ;)
...that I'm looking forward to the Brad Paisley concert on Saturday night but I'm also prepared to cry when he sings "Waiting on a Woman". (Andy Griffith was in the music video for that song, I know he's going to show it). I need to remember to take tissues.

...that in the past week I've spent an unspeakable amount of money on Rangers playoff tickets (I will hopefully need them) and tickets to a Cowboys game in October. Oh, the things I do for sports. :)

What's OK with you today??

XOXO!

It's OK!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK...

...to have watched all six seasons of Bones within a week period (and the first five episodes of season 7 that have already aired). I'm now caught up and ready for a new episode tonight. For the record, if you watch THAT much of one show in a short amount of time, you will have weird dreams about it. I'm just saying...

...to have cried at the episode of Bones where they killed off one of the main characters. I may or may not have been at my desk at work, watching it on my phone's Netflix app, when that happened.

...to be excited that you got seasons 6 and 7 of The Waltons for only $10. Yes, I'm a nerd. Moving on...

...to think the only time it's acceptable to be really cold outside is if it includes ice, snow and work closures.

...to not be able to get through Brad Paisley's song "Letter to Me" without tearing up.

...to be a little depressed when you realize that this fall it will have been 20 years since you started high school.

...to watch Psych so much that you feel the need to point out pineapples whenever you see them.
It's a running joke that in every episode of Psych, there is some form of a pineapple.
Photo Challenge Day 12: Close-Up

I know, scary-looking, but this is the only one I have on this computer. I miss my long hair!

XOXO!! We are almost to the weekend!! Hang in there! :)

Brad Paisley Concert Recap and 30 DBC- Day 11

I know, it's been almost two weeks and I still haven't done my Brad Paisley concert recap. Never fear, your wait is over!!

On July 30 my friend Leaneth and I went to Frisco for the Brad Paisley concert at Pizza Hut Park. It was a toasty 103 when we got there a little before 5pm. We decided to eat across the street at a sandwich shop (it was cheaper than eating inside the park). When we finally got to our seats about 6ish, we were delighted to see we were on the shaded side of the stadium.

A view of the stage behind us
Taking pictures at our nice, shady seats!
Did I mention it was a little on the warm side? I refused to pay $4 for water (which by the way, they poured from the bottle into a plastic cup, you couldn't even keep the bottle), so I stood in line at the concession stand (for, no joke- 30 minutes) to ask for a cup of ice. Author's note: I will vent another day how I feel that outdoor venues should either provide free water or let people bring in their own water when it's over 100 degrees. At first the lady was going to charge me $2 for the cup, but after seeing the look on my face (I guess she didn't want to risk seeing my wrath), she gave me a free cup of ice. And it was a 32 oz cup, so it was a pretty good size. It lasted me the rest of the concert.

A view from our seats.
It's going to sound awful, but I don't remember who the first act was (he performed while I was waiting in the line). Jerrod Niemann, I think. I was able to catch up with my friend Neely before Blake Shelton took the stage.

Aren't we adorable? :)
I had seen Blake Shelton once before, but I have to say I think this performance was a lot better than the last one. He did a great job! He did joke about the heat (but honestly, he should know better. An outside concert in Texas in July- did he really think it would be cool?) So, I was going to list each song he sang, but I found a copy of it online, so I'll just post that instead (I'm too lazy to retype it!) :)

Set list courtesy of this website here.

It was really funny when he started singing "Play That Funky Music White Boy"

During "Ol' Red". I always think of my nephew's dog Copper when I hear this song!
When Brad Paisley finally took the stage he appeared center stage (no fancy intro, just all of a sudden the spotlight came on and he was there.) He sang a chorus of "Mud on the Tires" and then the lights went out again. All of a sudden he was a few sections over from me on the front row. I think the stage bit was some sort of fancy hologram special effects thing (he did something similar last year at his concert when it looked like Alison Krauss came on stage to sing "Whiskey Lullaby".)

Doesn't it look like he's there?
This was my third Brad Paisley concert and I swear, I think they get better each year! One of my favorite parts was when Blake joined Brad on stage for a song. After the song Blake said, "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Brad Paisley." After that Brad said, "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Miranda Lambert!" (For those not familiar with country music, Blake's wife is country singer Miranda Lambert). I found Brad's set list online as well (I think I love THIS website now).

Set list courtesy of this website here.
The real Brad in the crowd during the first song!
Even if you don't like country music, I think Brad is one of the best guitar players out there!

Blake and Brad singing
During "Waiting on A Woman", they showed the music video on the big screen. The video stars Andy Griffith.
They also showed the video during "Old Alabama". I was kind of hoping that Alabama would make a special guest appearance and sing their part, but they didn't.
The finale!

It was a great concert, I can't wait for the next one!! :)

Now it's time for the 30 Day Blog Challenge update!

Day 11: Favorite TV shows

I've been over before how I have an unhealthy obsession with crime shows, so yes, most of these are crime related. :)

CSI
CSI: Miami
CSI: NY
NCIS
NCIS: Los Angeles
Criminal Minds
The Mentalist
Psych
The Big Bang Theory (Wahoo! A non-crime show! I **heart** Jim Parsons!)
Rizzoli and Isles (I just started watching this show a few weeks ago, I like it so far. It comes on TNT.)

So, yeah, I watch entirely too many shows. Thank goodness for a DVR, it's the only way I can watch this many.

I hope everyone has a great day! It's the 7th inning stretch of the work week, the weekend is almost here!!

XOXO!!
