I meant to post earlier today but got busy at work (go figure!) :) And instead of coming home after work, a friend and I went to see Beauty and the Beast 3D (I love that movie). So I'm posting this very late (BUT I'm determined to stick to my 5 posts a week "New Year's Resolution").
Photo Challenge Day 19: Sweet- I've mentioned many times I'm not a huge fan of "sweets", but I found this picture on Pinterestand loved it. If I ever make cupcakes for a party, I'm so doing this!
Wow, it's been a LONG time since I've done a Thursday 13 list. I thought since yesterday was Cary Grant's birthday I would post clips from 13 Cary Grant films. For information about the movie, just click on the title.Author's note: Well, if he was alive it would have been his birthday yesterday. And he would have been 108. Knowing him, he probably would look good at 108! What a looker he was! :)
Before I get started on my list, here are some fun Cary Grant facts:
-He was born on January 18, 1904 under the name Archibald Alexander Leach. He was given the name Cary Grant by Paramount Studios when he started his film career.
-Out of the 75 characters he portrayed, not one of them was a villain.
-He was a big baseball fan- supporting the New York Giants (before their move to San Francisco in 1958) and later the Los Angeles Dodgers.
-He turns down roles opposite Audrey Hepburn in both Roman Holiday and Sabrina. He later starred in the movie Charade with her
So today I've been listening to my 80s/90s country music playlist on YouTube. I miss the old school country sometime! All you country music haters stop wrinkling your noses at me. You know who you are (but I still love you)! ;) I thought I would share some of these videos with you for my Tuesday Tunes!

Funny story: One time when I was younger, a friend and I were listening to this song and she looked at me (with all seriousness) and said, "wait, there's no ocean in Arizona". I still tease her about that.
If you read my blog at all last week, you know that Rangers Fanfest was held this past weekend at the Arlington Convention Center. Some friends and I went on Saturday (it was a three day event). We had so much fun! My friend Aaron and I were there when the doors opened at 9a (he actually got there at 8, I sneaked in line with him when I got there at 8:30).
Obviously the players can't sign autographs for everyone (12,000 people attended FanFest over the three days), so they only allowed 225 people to get in line for a certain player's autograph (they sign for an hour). You didn't know who was signing (or where) until an hour beforehand so you kinda had to guess if you wanted to stand near a certain area or not. They announced signing times and locations on the big screen and TV screens around the convention center. If you were one of the first 225 to that line, you could get an autograph.
This year they had certain players whose autographs were done lottery style (these were the most popular players). They handed out different cards when you walked in the door and an hour before the signing time, they announced the winning numbers and those people were able to get in line for that particular autograph. On Saturday the lottery style autographs were Nolan Ryan, Ian Kinsler and Josh Hamilton. I already have autographs from Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler, but have never been able to get Nolan's (His Nolan-ness, as I call him). FYI, click on Josh's and Ian's name for the posts about me getting their autographs. So anyways, about 10am they put up the winning numbers for Nolan's autograph on the TV screens. I never dreamed I would have one of the winning tickets. But, I noticed that one of the numbers on the screen matched mine. I'll be honest, I squealed. I even made three people verify I read the numbers right. Happy, happy Rachel. Author's note: If you don't know who Nolan Ryan is, first, please don't ever tell me that, and two, Google him. :) This was a VERY big deal to this Rangers fan! What is really funny is that my friend Leaneth ALSO had a winning ticket (our friends couldn't believe we both won).
Could my smile be any bigger?
Leaneth's winning card!
Getting closer...
Nolan signing my baseball(thanks to my friend Aaron who gave me a baseball to have signed. Silly Rachel forgot to bring one).
Shaking hands with His Nolan-ness (thanks SO MUCH Leaneth for getting this picture! Squeal!)
My Nolan autograph. It is now in a protective case in my sports room.
I was only able to get a few other autographs (sadly one was NOT Craig Gentry because his line was full by the time I got there), but I didn't care. Getting Nolan's autograph made the day a success! I will HOPEFULLY get more autographs when I go to Spring Training (yes my friends, it seems I'm going to Rangers Spring Training out in Arizona in March.) My friends Tonya, Ashley and I have already bought tickets to two of the games (right by the dugout)! I just need money for the airline ticket now. :) If you would like to make a donation to the Rachel's Spring Training Trip fund, please email me! ;)
I didn't get as many pictures aslast year at FanFest, but here are some anyways!! Enjoy! :)

Me with my baseball homegirls and the Rangers mascot, Captain
We got to meet Jon, our awesome ticket rep!
The Texas Legends (who race around the field after the 6th inning) were also there. I got a picture of Davy Crockett- my favorite Alamo defender! :)
So, between meeting Nolan and planning my Spring Training trip, I'm on baseball cloud nine right now. Wahoo!! Have a great day friends!
After having three short work weeks in a row, working five days this week was a beating. TGIF!!!
1. What is the last thing you bought for yourself?
I JUST bought (like about two hours ago) a 20 game ticket package for Rangers games this season. This includes a ticket for Opening Day (April 6). Shoutout to my wonderful ticket rep Jon. He is so patient!
Yes, Rachel is dancing around her office. It looks something like this..
2. What is your favorite meal on a cold day?
My mom's homemade chili. It's beyond good. Seriously, there are no words to describe it. I wish I had some for tonight actually.
Yummy!
3. Have you started looking for swimsuits for this year and do you buy one every year?
I just got cleared by my chiropractor to start working out again (I haven't worked out since October) so, swimsuits are the LAST thing I'm thinking about. And no, I don't buy a new one every year. I bought one two years ago and maybe wore it once last year. It's almost like new! :)
4. If you could be any candy what would you be and why?
Not sure how to respond to this question. I don't think I would want to be candy. Except eye candy perhaps! ;) hehehe...But I would have to start working out A LOT for that to ever happen!
5. What are you most passionate about?
Baseball. I'm sure you are shocked by this since I never talk about it. Seriously though, baseball has been a part of my life since Day 2. On the way home from the hospital, my parents stopped at the park for my Bubba's baseball game (he was 10 at the time). So technically, I went to my first baseball game when I was two days old. :)
Me and my Bubba, circa 1982, maybe 1983
Photo Challenge Day 13: In Your Bag
Here is the purse I'm using right now. For the record, I didnot buy a Prada purse, it was a gift for serving on the "fun" committee here at work.
What? I can't be the only woman who has nasal saline spray and a USB drive in her purse! :)
...to have watched all six seasons of Bones within a week period (and the first five episodes of season 7 that have already aired). I'm now caught up and ready for a new episode tonight. For the record, if you watch THAT much of one show in a short amount of time, you will have weird dreams about it. I'm just saying...
...to have cried at the episode of Bones where they killed off one of the main characters. I may or may not have been at my desk at work, watching it on my phone's Netflix app, when that happened.
...to be excited that you got seasons 6 and 7 of The Waltons for only $10. Yes, I'm a nerd. Moving on...
...to think the only time it's acceptable to be really cold outside is if it includes ice, snow and work closures.
...to not be able to get through Brad Paisley's song "Letter to Me" without tearing up.
...to be a little depressed when you realize that this fall it will have been 20 years since you started high school.
...to watch Psych so much that you feel the need to point out pineapples whenever you see them.
It's a running joke that in every episode of Psych, there is some form of a pineapple.
Photo Challenge Day 12: Close-Up
I know, scary-looking, but this is the only one I have on this computer. I miss my long hair!
XOXO!! We are almost to the weekend!! Hang in there! :)
That my friend Monica and I got tickets to see The Oak Ridge Boys in concert on Jan 26. Thanks to a great deal with Groupon (and $10 in Groupon bucks that I had saved up), we only paid $12 for them (normally priced $34)! I can't wait!
I'm loving...
That after two months of weekly appointments, I'm finally cleared by my chiropractor (I was in a wreck on Oct. 31. I've been seeing a chiropractor since November). This means I can start light workouts again, AND, I can finally settle my claim with the insurance company of the girl who hit me.
I'm loving...
That the Texas Rangers Fanfest is this weekend at the Arlington Convention Center. It's a three day event, I plan to go at least one of the days! Prepare for pictures next week! :)
I'm loving...
That the sun decided to come out today after nothing but rain all week. And I switched flex days with a co-worker so I was able to be out and enjoy the sunshine this afternoon!
Photo Challenge Day 11: Where you Sleep
My bed (and yes, for those wondering, that is the famous Mordecai)
I saw this on Katie's blog last week and thought about participating, then I forgot. So, I know I'm over a week late to the game, but I'll try and catch up on it!
Day 1: You
Day 2: Breakfast- My carpool and I usually stop at Taco Cabana every morning for breakfast. Yes, I know, it's not THAT healthy, but hey, we have the hook-up. We get 10 cent breakfast tacos and a free drink (we are regulars there, they know us). :) You can't beat breakfast for 10 cents! :)
Day 3: Something you adore- My family!
Day 4: Letterbox- this is the letterbox (mailbox) I use the most!
Day 5: Something you wore- My new hat from my nephew!
Day 6: Makes you smile- Opening Day of baseball season is 89 days away!
Day 7: Favorite- Chick Fil-A milkshakes
Day 8: Your sky- it's a pretty dreary day (yet again). A view from my office window...
Day 9: Daily routine- Work, work, work...
Okay, this is not really my office building. It's raining and I don't want to go outside for a picture.
