What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving...

My Sunday School class. I've mentioned them before on here, but I love this group. They welcomed me with open arms when I asked if I could stay in their class (after visiting a few times). Don't be fooled- they keep me on my toes!! They are a wild bunch and I love them dearly! We had our Christmas party last Saturday night- we had a blast!

They loved the photo frame I made for our Fall Festival so much I made one for our Christmas party. :)

I'm loving...

This drink. I received one after I ran (walked) the 5K a few weeks ago. I'm now obsessed with them. They have different flavors, the pomegranate is good but mango might be my favorite. I love that it is low in calories and sugar.

I'm loving...

That I won a prize at my department Christmas party last week. I won a Fujifilm Instax camera- which is a newer version of a Polaroid camera. I also received a case and two rolls of film with it. It's a good thing it came with film- it cost $20 a roll. EEK! I obviously will only use it on special occasions.

I'm loving...

That my nephew Peter graduated from my alma mater last weekend. He is the 7th member of my family to graduate from there. I'm so proud of him!

I'm loving...

That this little guy was my date at Six Flags last weekend. He obviously was not impressed with Snapchat filters. Lol.

Thanks to his parents for giving me permission to use his photo on my blog!
I also had fun with the group of friends who came along with us to Six Flags- we had a blast. I love hanging out with these ladies!

I'm loving...

Psych-The Movie. I loved the TV show Psych so I was super excited earlier this year when they announced there would be a movie coming out (it went off the air in 2014). I had never been so excited for a TV movie before. Lol. Shawn and Gus didn't disappoint!

I'm loving...

My newest Christmas ornament. A friend of mine found this on Etsy so of course I had to order one. I ended up getting the last one too! The seller doesn't have any more for this season.

I'm loving...

This shirt- if someone can put in a good word for me with Santa, I would appreciate it. Tell him I wear a size medium. Please and thank you.

Because I’m horrible about mailing Christmas cards and updating my blog on a regular basis, I’m gonna post this now: Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. Season’s Greetings. Happy Holidays. Whatever you celebrate, I wish you all the best. I wish you a happy and healthy 2018. I hope you can always find something good and positive in life, no matter what the world tries to throw at you. I hope you know I’m always here to support you, pray for you, or just be an ear to vent to. Thank you all for being a part of my life, whether in person or just online. Thank you for putting up with my random posts, my countless photos, my obsession with Whataburger, Dr Pepper, baseball, and Dick Van Dyke. Y’all make my life so much better and I can’t imagine my life without y’all in it!

XOXO!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for...

...time spent with friends. Whether it be attending a college basketball game; playing Cards Against Humanity; a Girls Night Out; a company picnic at Six Flags; watching an awesome 80s movie at the theater; or even just meeting up for lunch at Whataburger, I am thankful for any time I get to spend with friends.

I'm thankful for...

...my sweet maintenance man who came by after hours to kill the wasps that got into my apartment (and the ones living on my balcony). I'm highly allergic to them and he made sure he removed all of them. He sprayed outside on my balcony and around my front door too. He even left the wasp spray in case any came back (thankfully they haven't). I keep the spray nearby though, along with my Epipen.

I'm thankful for...

...our veterans. They sacrifice so much for our freedom and I feel they need to be thanked everyday, and not just on Veterans Day.

I'm thankful for...

...a day off work to go see a movie by myself (even if the power did go out halfway through and I had to go to another theater to finally see the whole movie, but whatever). :)

Yes, I smuggled in Chick Fil-A in my purse, I'm not ashamed. Lol
I'm thankful for...

...all of you who put up with my randomness and silliness. Yes, I have my serious moments, but most of the times, I'm just a goofball. I'm sure it's interesting being friends with someone like me. I don't filter my thoughts and just say whatever is on my mind (this can be a good or bad thing). And yes, I'm probably gonna ask you to take a picture whenever I see you. I can't help it, I love photos and I love my friends. I'm learning to love myself and to actually take care of myself, and I don't care if you think my selfies are dumb, I don't take them for you, I take them for me. Haters gonna hate. Lol. I've come a long way over the last five years and I feel I'm in such a better place than I've been in a long time. Love y'all!

What are YOU thankful for??

XOXO!!

Happy 2017!

First of all, HAPPY 2017!! I hope your holidays and New Year were FANTASTIC! I know, I haven't posted in two months. Shame. On. Me. You have probably been wondering what I've been up to lately (okay, you probably couldn't care less, but humor me). I've just been so busy (so you can understand why I've been absent from the blogging world). I know, where are my priorities? Well, as you will see below, a lot of things were more important to me.

I have been hanging out with friends.

I went to San Antonio to see Billy Joel in concert. Shout out to my sweet friend Eric for taking me (it was my Christmas gift). We made the round trip in a day. San Antonio is about 4.5 hours from Dallas, so you can imagine, we got back like at 3:30am. Thanks to Eric for driving the whole trip as well!

I spent the holidays with my family.

My cousin Travis surprised my folks with a visit at Christmas. We hadn't seen him in eight years.
I saw a handful of my nieces and nephews at Thanksgiving (no, this isn't all of them). Everyone takes a picture with Aunt Rachel (whether they want to or not). Lol.
I went to several Christmas parties.

My Sunday School class Christmas party
My friend invited some of his favorite co-workers (that would include me) to his church's Christmas party (which involves free steak). I won a door prize that included a free set of steak knives and a $100 gift card to a nice steak restaurant. Funny story: It was almost 80 degrees when I went to the party, so I didn't take a coat. A cold front hit during dinner, and it dropped to the 40s. I was quite cold when I left!
I saw Breakfast At Tiffany's in the theater. Yes, I own it on DVD and have seen it 100 times (not an exaggeration), BUT, it was my first time to see Audrey Hepburn on the big screen. It was awesome!

I spent New Year's Eve with Stan Lee and a bunch of nerds/geeks (I say that lovingly).

Stan Lee was super nice. He was so full of energy too. I hope I'm like that when I'm 94!

Maurice LaMarche and Rob Paulsen- better known as the voices of Pinky and the Brain (I'm standing by Rob- the voice of Pinky). Fun fact: When I worked for a newspaper, my nickname was Pinky. My friend was The Brain. We still call each other that to this day. When I got my picture signed, I told Rob that my nickname was Pinky, he signed it "From one Pinky to another".

Peter Mayhew, better known as Chewbacca from Star Wars. Yes, he's tall. He's sitting down (and he's still almost taller than me).

I won an Emmy. Okay, I didn't. BUT, this is a real Emmy. It belongs to Mark Kistler. He's the host of a children's art program on PBS. He let me take a picture with it.

I would like to thank all my fans for making this possible....
I survived the great cold front of 2017. It dropped to temperatures my Texas body cannot handle. It was maybe 12 degrees at one point (all of you up north kindly stop laughing at me). HOW DO YOU PEOPLE LIVE LIKE THIS FOR MONTHS??

Okay, I am HOPEFULLY getting back to my What I'm Loving Wednesday post next week. Stay tuned!! :)

XOXO!
