What I'm Loving Wednesday

Well, 2022 hasn't been that great so far, but I want to try and focus on positive things, so I decided to try and get back into my habit of blogging more than once a year. I'm falling back on my old favorite, What I'm Loving Wednesday.

I'm loving...

That I've stayed on track with my workouts so far this year. Yes, I know, we are only three weeks in, but still, it's a start. I know I've mentioned it on here before, but I LOVE the app FitOn. It's free, and you get so many workout videos by different trainers (that way you don't get bored doing the same workouts over and over). You can select what type of videos you want: the area you want to target (abs, legs, arms) how long you want the video to be, the trainer you want, etc. I HIGHLY recommend them. All of the trainers are great, but my favorite is Kenta. He's amazing and he's so encouraging.

I'm loving...

This Etsy shop: Crafty Crutch Stuff. I discovered them last year when I was on Etsy searching for Atlanta Braves stuff. I found a Braves gnome they had made and decided I needed it. I loved the quality so much I reached out to the owners to special order a Rangers gnome (which they made and sent to me in less than two weeks). The owners are super nice. I recently purchased some of their kitchen towels and another gnome. In one of my purchases, they threw in a free bar of their homemade soap, which smelled AMAZING. I highly recommend this shop. If you know me, you know I'm all about supporting small businesses. If you want a gnome with a specific sports team or design, you can reach out and ask for it. If you order anything from them, let them know that Rachel sent you! :)

I'm loving...

Mr. Ballen's YouTube Channel. My neighbor introduced me to Mr. Ballen last year and I binged watched all of his videos in like a week. If you are a fan of the strange, dark, and mysterious delivered in storytelling format, Mr. Ballen is for you! Here is a sample of his videos. And yes, he really is a former Navy Seal (the second video will explain that).

I dressed up as Mr. Ballen for Halloween at work last year. Lol.

I'm loving...

The Jurassic World Exhibit-I went last week and had a lot of fun. The last day for the Dallas exhibit was this past Monday, but if you ever see it near you, I recommend going. It is something that is enjoyable for people of all ages.

I'm loving...

That I'm finally working on all the scrapbooks that I've been talking about completing for the last 100 years (okay, maybe not that long). I've had stuff in a box for twenty years from middle school and high school and am excited to get it cleared out and in an album. 2022 is the year of organization for me!

It's OK...I'm back!

OMG- what a week!! I hate neglecting my blog! And before you ask, no I didn't get a chance to catch up on my blog commenting last weekend. I know, I know, I'm a terrible person. :( I really need to find a way to be able to comment from my phone, anyone have any suggestions? On weeks I'm not driving the carpool, I have a 45 minute commute (both ways) where I can catch up on reading blogs. Lately I haven't turned on my laptop at home and work has been CRAZY BUSY so there is no chance of catching up during my lunch break. **sigh**

Okay, venting portion over. What day is it? Thursday right?

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK...

...to be excited that you only paid this amount for gasoline last night...

...to complain about your coworkers on your blog

...to rethink getting a concealed handgun license

...to attend games of three different sports in a week's time (last Friday: Rangers, last Sunday: Cowboys, tomorrow night: Dallas Stars)

...to take your picture with the drunk guy who sat in front of you at the Rangers game last week (he was funny, and very entertaining)
I think his name was CJ
...to be really bad about updating your blog with your 101 in 1001 progress

...to consider taking a day off work just to catch up on your DVR watching

...to be super stoked that you were given a pass to the ground level club at Cowboys Stadium (which is right behind the Cowboys bench).

My view of Tony Romo, after his third interception, or was it his fourth? Shaking my head..oh Tony..

101 in 1001 update:

Since I mentioned it earlier, I decided to update you on my 101 in 1001 progress. Click here if you are new and haven't checked out that tab yet.

15. Organize hall closet (so I can actually see the floor). Over Labor Day weekend I cleaned out my hall closet (and bedroom closet), and was able to donate stuff to Mission Arlington.

Here is the before picture:
I know, awful isn't it?
Here is the after picture:
Hey- you can see the floor! On the right hand side, there is a shelf, the angle the picture was taken you can't really tell. The Rubbermaid containers in the back are full of Sports Illustrated magazines from my 7 year subscription (yes, I'm a nerd). Yes, I know I should get rid of them. Give me time. Maybe I'll sell them on eBay?
18. Complete scrapbook for elementary school. My mom saved A LOT of my stuff from elementary school, and I FINALLY got it all organized into a scrapbook (it actually had to go into two books because it was too much for one).
My elementary school mascot was a Scottie, and I still had this wooden Scottie Dog necklace they had given us. Our school colors were black and red.
If you didn't know how old I was, now you know!
From my kindergarten class picture...

...to my 5th grade graduation. (Yes, there is a baseball in the upper corner. It's a ball I caught at a Rangers game, it's on my living room floor for some reason.)
At one time in my life, I was good in math (this was 3rd grade).
As well as a science whiz- go figure!! :)
19. Clean out storage unit. A few weeks ago I cleaned out my outside storage unit (throwing away a lot of stuff, and even getting my Christmas decorations near the front!)

58. No computer (non work related) for five consecutive days. As I mentioned above, I haven't been turning on my laptop lately. I think I went almost two weeks without using it!

94. Make a decision about buying a Nook or Kindle. I've made a decision (for now). I'm not getting either. I'm not ready to sacrifice my "real books" yet for electronic books. Maybe one day.

There you have it! An update on my 101 in 1001. I'll try to be better about posting about my progress. Feel free to check page from time to time to check the status of my ongoing tasks! Hope everyone has a great day!! We are almost to the weekend (can I get an AMEN??)

XOXO!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving...

My. Texas. Rangers. It's hard to believe there is only ONE month left in the regular baseball season. It makes me sad. It seems like only yesterday it was Opening Day (check out that post here). I'm HOPING (and possibly praying) that the Rangers will once again have a post season. I got spoiled last year during their World Series run. As of now, I have tickets to at least six more regular season games. There is a chance I might become a half season ticket holder next year. Details to be posted if that happens.

At the game last Friday with my friend Beks.
My view at the game last night- thanks again to my buddy Donny for the ticket!
The guy in front of us was wearing these boots. There are no words for them. Oh my...
Too cute not to post. Aunt Rachel's little Rangers fan E!

I'm loving...

That I've been able to meet up with some of my "Tweeples" in person. If you are on Twitter, follow me here. Yes, most of the meet ups happen at Rangers games! :)

I'm loving...

That I'm finally learning to use my George Foreman Grill. I cooked steaks last week for the first time (so, yeah, I'm a little slow on the whole "learning to cook" thing). Move over Rachael Ray, there is a new cook in the kitchen (**and she spells her name correctly**).

Yum...steak.
I'm loving...

These Audrey Hepburn glasses given to me by my sister Martha! :)

She knows me so well!
I'm loving...

That both of my sisters sent me little "pick me up" messages this week. I love them! :)

I'm loving...

That at 5pm TOMORROW my four-day weekend will officially start! I plan to clean my apartment (I know how to have a good time, don't I?) I possibly have clothes on my couch from when I did laundry LAST weekend. It's time to do some cleaning, maybe a little organizing/reorganizing. I might even get my fall decorations out of storage so they are ready to be put up in a few weeks.

After the great cleaning of 2011 I plan to...

Finally watch all, well, at least most, of the TV shows/movies on my DVR. With new episodes of my shows starting in a few weeks, I need a clean DVR!

This is the only picture of my TV that I have, I just bought it last month (along with seasons 3 and 4 of Psych). ;)
 Do a little scrapbooking.
I FINALLY finished my elementary school scrapbook. I need to update my 101 in 1001 list!

Do a little reading.
I spent last Saturday dusting my book cases and getting rid of a few books I didn't want anymore. Sadly this is a VERY small portion of my books. I think this was one shelf worth. I'm not joking when I say I probably have over 300 books!

Watch a little college football. I'll be honest, I almost like college football more than the NFL. In order to keep peace in my family- I had to make sure I included all of these. Got family members who have attended (or are CURRENTLY attending) one of these schools! Gig 'em. Hook 'em. Get your guns up! I personally went to a small, private university, so we don't play with the "big dogs". BUT, we were on ESPN3 one time (it was exciting!) ;)

Hope everyone has a great day!!

XOXO!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

 I'm loving...

That the Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Now, I'm not as in love with basketball like I am baseball (I do watch it though). And I just love that all the "experts" were proven wrong since basically everyone picked the Heat to win (yeah, I'm looking at you ESPN!)

I'm loving...

That I will be seeing my family this weekend. A certain nephew of mine is having a birthday tomorrow so we will be celebrating that...

Me and my nephew back in the day (he's only 3 years younger than me) I apologize for my hideous sweater in this picture.

Me and my nephew at a Texas A&M baseball game in April

...And I will be there to celebrate Father's Day with my dad...

Me and my sister Mary with our dad last year on Father's Day

AND I get to see these cutie pies!

C and E playing on the Slip 'N Slide

I'm loving...

That I received the books I ordered from Barnes and Noble (I got a gift card for my birthday). Lots of reading ahead for me!! I love Roxanne St. Claire and Allison Brennan! I also love that Roxanne St. Claire is following me on Twitter- she is so wonderful to her fans!

I'm loving...

My friend James David Carter's cover of "Don't Close Your Eyes". Check out his other videos here. I also love that he's a Braves fan. I hope he remembers to tell me if Steve Avery is ever back for an alumni game! :)

I'm loving...

That I got the binder for my World Series scrapbook. It's perfect!! And I had a 40% off coupon!! :)

I'm loving...

That I have confidence to sport my junior high gym socks when I work out (yes, I know, it's pathetic that I still have them and that I can still wear them- get over it). :) I didn't have clean socks last night when I went to work out, so, I found these and put them on. High socks rock!

Hope everyone is having a great day and great week! It's been an exhausting one for me. I was in bed a little before 9 last night, but man, the sleep was nice!!

XOXO!!
