What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm Loving...
That I got to dog-sit a few weekends ago. Holly is such a sweet girl, she has to put up with Aunt Rachel taking so many pictures of her. Lol.

I'm Loving...
That I get to hang out with friends at the Ballpark. It hasn't been the best season for the Rangers, but we have fun regardless of the outcome of the game.

I'm Loving...
That my almost 83 year-old father always stands for the American flag during a parade. My grandfather served in the US Coast Guard during WWII.

I'm Loving...
That a friend gave me this sweet card last week. Life has been kinda crazy lately so these were the best words I could hear.

I'm Loving...
That I can never seem to leave Half Price Books without a book (or two...or five...okay six).

What are YOU loving today?

XOXO!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving...

Rangers baseball. I know it's a long season and we are only in June, but man, the Rangers have been playing great baseball lately. I've been there the past five nights (well, it was an afternoon game on Sunday, but I was there). Yes, five games in a row, you read that correctly. I MIGHT have an addiction. And it looks like someone is trying to talk me into going tonight. We will see.

My Rangers baseball adventures Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Thanks to my friend Dawn for the ticket on Saturday! It's always a blast seeing a game with her!
Sunday evening ShutdownInning.com hosted a Twitter party in one of the RoughRider suites. It was fun hanging out with my baseball family and meeting up with some Twitter friends!
My awesome friend Amber was in town last weekend and got tickets to the game Monday night. She was sweet enough to invite me. We had great seats! I also ran into my college buddy Marc and got to meet my sweet Twitter friend Wade, who was in town to see a game. And the evening ended with a walk-off Rangers win. I wish all my Mondays were as fun as that one!
Last night at the game I stopped by the season ticket holder office to visit my two favorite Rangers employees, Mike and Jon. Jon has been my ticket rep since 2011. He's awesome! If you ever think about getting season tickets or a mini plan for the Rangers, let me know. I'll give you Jon's information. He's the best!
I'm loving...

This interview with Stan Lee. He threw out the first pitch at the Rangers game on Saturday night. He is a NATIONAL TREASURE!

I'm loving...

That the Rangers Twitter account fully supports my baseball addiction.

I'm loving...

That I finally got to meet this cutie last Sunday night at a RoughRider baseball game (yes, I went to the Rangers game that afternoon then the RoughRider game that evening. Don't judge me.) Thanks to my friend Matt (B's dad) for letting me use this picture on my blog!! :) I tried to take him with me, but Matt and his wife wouldn't let me. Lol.

I'm loving...

When I'm able to meet up with a friend for lunch during the week. Last week my friend Bob and I went to Pei Wei for lunch (which is so out of character for us, we normally meet up at Whataburger). Lol.

I'm loving...

That no matter how many unread books I own, if Half Price Books has a clearance sale, I'm there. No book is over $2. You can't pass that up. I only bought 7 this time (opposed to the 20 I bought last time I went). I don't have a book problem... :)

What are YOU loving today?

XOXO!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Is it just me, or are the days flying by this year? I can't believe it's JUNE! Good grief, time needs to slow down some. Thanks again for stopping by for What I'm Loving Wednesday! :)

I'm loving...
That I got to see my favorite T-ball player last week. The hour and a half drive was worth it to see him play a great game. And I also got hugs from both him and his dad (my bestie). :)

I'm loving...
Meeting up with friends that I don't see that often. Last week my friend Joe and I celebrated our friend Becky's birthday with her! :) It was great to see both of them! We usually keep up with each other via Facebook. We promised to get together again soon.

I'm loving...
Late birthday lunches. My team took me out last week for a very late birthday lunch (better late than never). :) As you can tell, I was a little piggy. I have no regrets, it was all amazing. Yes, three pickles. I love pickles. And yes, I did get Jell-O too. Lol.

I'm loving...
The newest addition to my Dick Van Dyke movie collection. I used to LOVE this movie when I was a kid. I had some Best Buy reward points that were expiring, so I used them on this gem. :)

I'm loving...
Going to the movies by myself. I used to think it was crazy to go to the movies alone, but lately, I kind of enjoy it. I usually have Friday afternoons off work, so I can catch an early afternoon show. Last week I saw Love and Mercy (the film about Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys). It was a great movie. John Cusack did an amazing job. As did Paul Dano (the guy who played the younger Brian Wilson).

I didn't have time to eat lunch before going to the movies, so I was forced to get popcorn so I didn't starve. Remind me never to do that again. It cost $6.50 for this bag. That's ridiculous. Next time I'll be sure to leave enough time to get food beforehand.
I'm loving...
Two hour trips at Half Price Books. I got some gift cards for my birthday, and decided last Saturday to go put them to good use. I roamed around for basically two hours. I like when I go by myself and can just take my time looking at all of the selections. I ended up using only one gift card (which means I have to go back- darn). :)

The top left book is a Russian play that was recently translated into English. I've started it, it's...interesting. Also, I'm not a Jane Austen fan, so I thought if I read about zombies in Pride and Prejudice, I could actually finish it. Lol. And yes, I bought my first graphic novel. It was based on The Babysitters Club (my favorite childhood series- I had to get it). And the other one was only $1 and a mystery novel, so of course I had to pick it up.
I'm loving...
Road trips. I am taking one soon. I can't wait!

What are you loving today??
XOXO!

Mobile Monday

First, I KNOW, I KNOW, I'm so behind on my book reviews. Soon, I promise. I'll catch y'all up on what I've been reading.

I meant to update my blog last week, but the past few weeks have been just nuts. My niece has been in the hospital for almost two weeks, so life has been kinda crazy. I just got back from spending a few days with her. I don't want to get too much into it right now, but prayers and good thoughts are appreciated for her!

After visiting my niece in the hospital on Thursday, I helped out by watching her three kids (my niece is 29). I hadn't seen my family since Christmas Day, so it was good to be home and to spend time with them.

After leaving the hospital on Friday, I had to make a stop someplace, and I found this lip balm. Of course I had to buy it!!

Baseball lip balm!! It's perfect. :)
I stayed with my parents while I was home. I found a page on Facebook recently called Vintage San Antonio where they upload old pictures from around San Antonio. Since my dad is from there, I thought he might like to look at some of them. He doesn't have Facebook, so I logged on and we looked at the page on my laptop. He really enjoyed it, and he told me some fascinating stories when he saw a picture from the time period of his childhood. There was one picture of a campaign rally for Lyndon B. Johnson in 1948. My dad told me a story how he had been there with his neighbor and that after the speech, he was able to shake LBJ's hand. My dad was studying the picture, then I saw him lean in real close. He realized that he was sitting on the front row in the picture!

My dad is the kid on the ground to the right of the picture. This picture is courtesy of Vintage San Antonio. I hope it's okay that I used it. All credit goes to them!
I tried to blow it up a little so you could see my dad. :) Photo courtesy Vintage San Antonio

As you can imagine, the past few weeks have been kinda crazy with me worrying about my niece. I also had a few rough weeks at work. One day one of my sweet guy friends sent me this text. I honestly have the bestest friends ever! Just a text like this made my day. :)

My friend's kids are also awesome. The daughter of my sweet friend Kelly sent me this Valentine's.

A few weeks ago, I found a $25 gift card to Half Price Books that I got for Christmas (and by some miracle, hadn't spent yet). I had a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase, so I decided it was a great time to use it! My total came to $25.09 but the cashier spotted me the nine cents, so, I got 8 new books to read! :)

Well, the book Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret, is actually replacing my old copy I lost when I was a kid. I read the Sophie Kinsella book last week. Book review to come soon!!
If you are on Facebook, you've noticed all these quizzes where you can find out what character you are from a movie, book, or TV show. While I was in the hospital with my niece, I did the Sesame Street Quiz. I'm Grover. It works for me, blue is my favorite color. :)

Okay, I PROMISE this week, I'll have at least one of my book reviews for you. I'll try to get to all three!! Hope you are all doing well!!

XOXO!!
