What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving...

That I got to spend Mother's Day weekend at my folks house. The Lions Club where my folks live (my mom is a member with them) was having a bake sale on Saturday at their local grocery store, so I was there helping them out. They were raising money to donate to the high school seniors and their college scholarships. It was actually a lot of fun (despite the slight sunburn I got). On Sunday my mom was able to have her three daughters with her for a Mother's Day lunch.

I'm loving...

That Thursday night I will see these guys in concert. Oh yes, 12-year-old Rachel is very excited. Don't rain on my parade. Lol. :) This will be my third time to see them in concert (sadly I didn't see them when I was younger, so I'm making up for it as an adult). I saw them in 2011 (see recap here) and in 2013 in Boston (see recap here). The best part about this concert is that I was hooked up with some free tickets. I have connections in high places. :) I'm sure I'll post pictures next week.

That I got this show on DVD last week. It aired about 10 years ago. It was only on three seasons, but I really liked it. It was based on a true story about a deaf woman who worked for the F.B.I.

I know this isn't a lot of things to love this week, but it's one of those days where I just can't seem to get motivated to blog (I'm thankful I found 3 things to love). :) Thank you to everyone who links up with us, we really appreciate it!! :)

My Weekend: A Review in Pictures

Hope all of you mothers out there had a great Mother's Day! I actually surprised my mom by going home on Thursday (she wasn't expecting me until Friday night). As always, I had a great weekend with my family. I left right after lunch yesterday to speed hurry back to the Metroplex for the Rangers game. Yes, my family is aware of my baseball obsession- where do you think I get it from? :) I thought I would share some pictures from my weekend adventures!

On Friday I spent most of the afternoon on my parents front porch reading a book. I was so wrapped up in the book I didn't notice it had started raining at one point!

My birthday is next Wednesday. This memory box was a gift from my sister Martha! :)

Inside the can was everything I need for watching baseball- Cracker Jacks, sunflower seeds, candy, and gum. She even included a pack of baseball cards. Oh yes, my sisters know me so well! :)

Last night at the game, the first 25,000 got a pink shirt with the Rangers logo from the 70s on it. I actually like this logo. Can't say I'm a huge fan of pink, but hey, it was for Mother's Day and it was free. :)

On Saturday at the game the giveaway was a replica 1970s cap. Shout out thank you to my good friend Laura for getting an extra one for me since I was at my folks!

So the guy in the light blue shirt must have season tickets next to us. We have seen him at a least three games. Each game he has had a different girl with him. From the conversation we heard while eavesdropping minding our own business, he made it seem like he had never brought another girl to a game before. He seems nice though, despite his "player" lifestyle. He would give high fives after every Rangers run. The girl he was with last night at least knew baseball, she and I talked for a little bit about how Nolan Ryan could probably still throw a baseball 90 miles per hour.

We realized halfway through the game that the T on the field was pink in honor of Mother's Day.

So the kid in front of us was wearing an Angels shirt (that is the team we were playing. For those of you who don't know baseball, the Angels are the enemy, don't let their heavenly name fool you). Every time my friends and I would cheer for the Rangers he would turn around and roll his eyes at us. At one point I had to keep a friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) from flicking his ear. He definitely had an attitude on him!

Happy Mother's Day!

I know, I'm a day late, BUT I was spending the weekend with my mom, so I have a good excuse why I wasn't online yesterday. :) I got home last night from my folks, and went into "veg mode", not wanting to do anything except sit and watch TV, so I didn't get a chance to log on my blog! I hope all of you moms (or those acting in the place of a mom) had a great day!

My weekend went great. You know I love family time. Got to spend Mother's Day with my mom and my two sisters. Oh yes, I have pictures!!

First of all, I want to wish all of you who are mothers (or acting in the place of a mother) a VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Thank you for all you do! :) I'm actually going "home" today to spend the weekend with my mom.

Well, today marks the end of the two year run of The Bonnie Hunt Show. I'm sad to see it go off the air. It was the first and only talk show I ever watched. Anyways, this week one of her last guests was none other than Mr. Dick Van Dyke (for those new to my blog, he's my favorite actor). It seems that Mr. Van Dyke has team up with Chad Smith (yes, the Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) to create a children's album titled, The Rhythm Train.

Turns out not only can Mr. Van Dyke sing and dance, he can also rap. Not bad for an 84 year old!

Well, what would a post of mine be without mentioning the Rangers. **deep sigh** The win last night put us back in first place (it was an ugly, roller coaster win, but a win nevertheless). We'll skip over the UGLY, GORY details of how our bullpen blew an 8 run lead. BUT, thanks to back-to-back homeruns by Josh Hamilton and Vladimir Guerrero in the 8th, the Rangers pulled off a 13-12 win. Being a Rangers fan is sometimes like being in an unhealthy relationship. You can't help but love them, despite the pain and heartache they sometimes bring you! : ) But I'm here, I'm committed to them. In sickness and in health, for better or for worse, in cold weather and in 100 plus degree weather, in wins and in losses, until death do us part.

Oh, and this just goes to show that checking Facebook periodically on my phone does pay off (for all of you that say I'm too "addicted" to my iPhone). :) While at the game I noticed that a friend's status mentioned that said she was at the game too. I commented that I was there as well, and she told me we should meet up, so I called her (we hadn't seen each other in like a year). It turned out there were empty seats by her and her family, so me and the friend I was with moved over by them. Here is a view from where we ended up sitting (thank you again Christy!!)
