I'll be honest, I couldn't come up with a theme for my Thursday 13, so I decided to take the easy way out and list 13 random thoughts going through my mind.
1. I wonder what life will be like if there is an NFL Lockout next season? I have three brothers. Sundays at my house were church, then football. Now, I don't love football as much as I love baseball. It's not even close. But it's weird to think about no professional football being played next season. Even though I would miss football (a little), I would love to see Jerry Jones fume over it (I know, I'm mean, but that man is evil! He deserves it.) :)
2. Will gas prices ever go back down? The gas station by my house was $3.20 a gallon last time I looked. I know it's only going up. I will have to say that I'm thankful I'm carpooling to work again. And we might have found one other person to join our carpool, meaning I would only have to drive every 2 weeks to work (it's about a 30 mile commute).
3. Is Charlie Sheen really that crazy, or is this some weird publicity stunt? The man got over a million followers on Twitter in less than 24 hours. I guess everyone loves watching a "train wreck". The ones I really feel bad for in this whole deal are his kids. Poor things.
4. I'm very excited that Chick Fil-A is giving away free fries tomorrow. I just heard this on the news. Between 2pm-4pm tomorrow you can get free waffle fries if you mention you are wanting to try the new Heinz Dip and Squeeze ketchup. Yum! Go here for a location near you!

5. If I was given free tickets, I would totally go see New Kids on the Block and The Backstreet Boys in concert when they are here in June. I can't say I would PAY to go though (does that make sense?) I was a huge NKOTB fan back in the day (circa 1989-1991). I never got to see them in concert though. Somewhere the 12 year old still hiding inside of me would get a kick out of going. I was never a Backstreet Boys fan (I didn't dislike them, but I get some of their songs confused with the other boy bands that were out around that time. I was in college when they were popular).
6. Not only am I going to Rangers Opening Day on April 1, but I'm also going to Opening Night on April 2. My baseball heart is happy. Oh so happy. I know you can't see me, but I'm smiling right now. :) And dancing. Okay, I'm not really dancing.
7. I wonder what the acting qualifications are for playing a dead body on a crime show? I've said it before, but I would totally play a dead body on CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds or The Mentalist (yes, I have an unhealthy crime show addiction- moving on).
8. Is there really such a thing as a McLobster at McDonald's, or is this a hoax? And if it's real-ew. I'm not a fan of seafood to begin with, but that just sounds really nasty. For some reason McLobster is trending on Twitter, so I'm just wondering.
Real? Photoshopped? Has anyone seen one in person? |
9. I wonder if Whataburger will ever serve taquitos all day? Right now they are only available 11pm-11am. But sometimes I'll want a taquito for lunch or dinner. For those not familiar with Whataburger, a taquito is an awesome breakfast burrito (the egg, bacon and cheese one is my personal favorite!) If you are local, email/write/call Whataburger. DEMAND they serve taquitos all day long. If not for you, for me. Together my friends, we can make this happen!
10. I don't understand how my co-workers can email me (when they have to type in my name to get my email address) and they STILL misspell my first name when they are addressing me in the body portion. It's very simple folks. R-A-C-H-E-L. Not Rachael. Not Racheal. Maybe I'm just being over-sensitive about it today.
11. I wonder if there is really a Loch Ness Monster? When I was little, I really wanted the Loch Ness Monster to be real. I don't know why. I plan to go there one day, maybe I'll find out!
12. Why is a raven like a writing desk? If you have never seen Alice in Wonderland, then you won't get this. And I'm talking about the original cartoon, I didn't see the Johnny Depp one. The previews looked creepy.
13. I wonder if people really read my whole post, or if they just skim it? Um....

Hop on over to For the Love of Blogs and participate in the Thirsty Thursday blog hop!! I think my drink of choice will be Ginger Ale today!
Have a lovely day friends! XOXO!!
I really read the whole thing! I love Randomness with Rachel. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends posted about the Tigers being on the radio today because baseball season is back and I instantly thought of you! :)
Awesome post!
ReplyDeleteGasoline in our town is $3.69 for unleaded, sux, and I just got a big SUV last month. Doh!
I think Charlie Sheen might just be *that* crazy!
We don't have a chick-fil-a so I'm jealous you do!
I've never heard of the McLobster ... am now going to look into it. I won't be trying it though, just that picture of it is nasty.
No one ever spells my name right either, even relatives. Whateves.
I read the whole post, haha!
Racheale,
ReplyDeleteApparently "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" was supposed to be a riddle with no answer.
A very merry unbirthday to you!
I could care less about football unless the Eagles are in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteBaseball, right around the corner. Let's go Phils!
McLobster, please say it isn't so..disgusting!
I almost went to a NKOTB concert when I was young, but they broke up and canceled the tour before I got to go. It was better that way because by then was over them anyway.
I have a friend selling her two tickets for the Columbus show. I have no interest though and that's a bit far for you, plus you'd have to PAY for them, who wants to do that!
I read them all.
Haven't had ginger ale in a very long time.
It's funny- the fact that you had it broken down would have made it easier to skim, but the organization makes you WANT to read the whole thing- haha. I'm really grossed out by "McLobster" too, but I'm a lifelong vegetarian so Mcdonalds in general sort of icks me out.
ReplyDelete1. Don't even say it!
ReplyDelete2. I hope so. Cost $49 to fill up a VW Rabbit!
3. He's fun to watch, that's for sure.
4. Oh Rachel, you are easy to please.
5. Hang in there, you might get some. (As long as you hang tough and want it that way, that is)
6. I peeked, you were really dancing.
7. You couldn't do it. I've never known you mouth to stop moving :)
8. Zoidberg!
9. You have way too much free time :)
10. No, those assholes need to get it right. Jerks. I'll find them at home and whisper R-A-C-H-E-L in their ears as they sleep.
11. Not real. They've proved it was a snorkling giraffe.
12. Because Lewis Carroll said so, and http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1173/why-is-a-raven-like-a-writing-desk.
13. What do you think?
Haha-- I read it all! :) I don't know about Charlie Sheen. I go back and forth over whether it is real or contrived. Either way, it's ridiculous. But I can't stop watching...
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I had a carpool. Even for the 10 miles I drive to work. I can't imagine a commute that long.
My guess about the McLobster is that it's regional (i.e. the New England area) or international. It looks like it's on a hot dog bun, which is not what you'd expect to eat with lobster...
1. I wouldn't flip out like some. Just don't take my baseball!
ReplyDelete2. I hope gas goes down, I don't think my budget can handle much more of this!
3. I think it's a publicity stunt, something akin to Joaquin Phoenix having a complete meltdown.
4. I've never actually eaten at Chik Fil-A.
5. No, lol. Just no.
6. Still working on that!
8. I hope it's a hoax. #gross
10. My name is Donny. Not Donnie, Donney, or Don (I feel ya on this one).
13. Wait, what was #12 again?
Great post after today, I needed the smile, and to know I'm not the only one thinking random today.
ReplyDeleteNew follower. When you get the chance please follow me back.. http://realadventuresfromamomof3.blogspot.com/
I'm brand new to your blog and I read the whole thing... and loved it. And I was saddened that there is not a chik-fil-a near my office for lunch.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I just read a bunch of posts.
ReplyDeleteI will totally be back!

7. never thought about that. yeah, those must be really quiet auditions.
ReplyDeleteI read the whole thing, I don't want to miss anything! So jealous you get to go to two games in two days, AWESOME! Even though it's the Rangers :) I wish I lived closer to a ball stadium, the closest is the REDS, YUCK! I think it would be awesome to be an extra in a show, dead or alive! ♥ BJ
ReplyDeleteI don't believe for a minute that you could play a dead body. LOL I will have to pass on the Chick FilA info to my daughter who is in TX. (We don't have them up here). And I have no idea why anyone cares about Charlie Sheen. Personally, I'd rather our news people talk about our 'official' government debt and what 'trillion' even means: $14,194,764,339,462.64.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post, loved the random/question aspect. Hope you had a great weekend, amebic advise against that McLobster idea, definitely. Ugh. And I did indeed read the whole post!
