This is the view from my balcony right now.
This is ice. Yes, my Christmas lights are in still on my balcony, I forgot to take them down when I packed up my Christmas decorations. I swear I'm not a redneck.
Again, for all of my sweet friends up north, you have to understand: WE DON'T DO ICE here in Texas. No really, we don't. I woke up at 5am to the sound of ice pounding against my window. At that time the bad weather hot line at work was saying we had a delay until 10am. I started watching the news and they were reporting that all the school districts in the Metroplex were closed, including Dallas and Fort Worth (you don't understand, those two districts RARELY close). The anchors said over and over, if you don't have to leave your house today, don't. I was texting a friend and fellow co-worker and we were "text praying" that we would eventually close for the day (I have a 30 mile commute ONE WAY to work, it was going to take me like 2 hours to get there). As of 8:00 it was still sleeting/snowing at my house. I had just started getting ready for what was going to be an unbearable commute when my friend texted me that we were closed for the day. **insert Hallelujah chorus here**
The Steelers and Packers just arrived in town yesterday for the Super Bowl. I'm sure they are laughing at the fact that DFW has closed down due to ice. I'm sure this is normal for them in Pittsburgh and Green Bay.
So anyways, I'm currently sitting in bed with my electric blanket on, getting ready to watch an NCIS marathon that I recorded last weekend. Oh yes, and I have my hot chocolate. The weatherman just said there is a wind chill of -2 outside. I'm so glad I went grocery shopping this weekend and don't have to leave for any reason.
Have a good day friends!
XOXO!
Sounds like a perfect day to me! Inside, warm, cocoa, and TV :)
ReplyDeleteMan, what I would give for a snow day here in AZ! I will probably be waiting awhile! Have I asked you if you have watched Psych yet? You would love that show and its on Netflix!
