Thursday 13- Favorite Verses

Thanks to everyone for the emails/tweets asking how I'm doing- sorry I've been slacking on my blog this week. I could complain and give you all the gory details of my week, but I won't. For my Thursday 13, I wanted to share some of my favorite scriptures. I should really focus more on the Word instead of complaining so much (hey- I'm human, what can I say?) If you have any favorites scriptures, please feel free to leave them in the comments or email them to me!! XOXO sweet friends for being there for me!

Three guesses what I'm having for lunch today for my Thirsty Thursday!! :)

Head over to For the Love of Blogs and link up for Thirsty Thursday!!

  1. Good ones! Two other favorites of mine:

Isaiah 43:1-3 Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Psalm 121:1-2 "I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from where comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."

  2. Love the verses from Jeremiah...I was gonna say Isaiah 43:1 - but looks like someone beat me to it! :) That's my fave.

I have Colossians 3:23-24 on my computer monitor at work..."And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will recive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Another favorite is 1 Samuel 16:7..."But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"

Hope you have a great Thursday!

Job 23:10-- But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Joshua 24:15 (in my blog header)--Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.

  5. In case you haven't noticed on Twitter, I've been busy too. Hardly had time for anything. I don't think I can narrow down a favorite verse, but I'm partial to Philippians 4:13-great for motivation! Also, Genesis 29:17, great verse! I just can't imagine why it might be a favorite of your though, lol. I think I just may bookmark this page, great short & sweet blog!

  8. Isaiah 41:9-10
"you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, 'You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off'; fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

  12. I just stumbled upon your blog as I have clicked from one item to another (as often happens when I open my computer) and LOVE this post. SOne of my favorites has always been 1 Timothy 4.12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
If you have a chance I'd love it if you could swing by my blog as well!
