Mobile Monday Weekend Review

As I mentioned in my blog last week, I had to go car shopping this past weekend (since I didn't find anything the weekend before). After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (okay, not really), I am happy to say that I GOT MY NEW CAR!!!**happy dance** If you live in Dallas and are looking for a new or used car, comment below with your email, I want to give you the name of the dealership I went to and the saleswoman I dealt with. She was super nice!! Thank you Christine!
My 2012 Mazda 3. Isn't it all clean and shiny? We'll see how long that lasts! :)
My friend Laura went with me and was taking pictures as I was signing the paperwork. There was A LOT of paperwork to sign!
In my new car, I haven't named her yet. My friend thinks I should call her Silver so whenever I drive off I can say "Hi-o-Silver- AWAY!" :)
After driving a truck for so many years, it will take some time to get used to being lower to the ground in a car, but I like it. And I like that it gets good gas mileage! And that I can hook up my iPod to play through the stereo. And that I have a "clicker" to unlock my doors (as you can tell, I'm very "high maintenance" when it comes to what I want in a vehicle.) ;) As long as it had power locks/windows, made a dinging sound if I left the lights on, and allowed me to hook up my iPod, I was happy. :) I was very excited to finally get it. To celebrate, I drove to Sherlock's in Arlington to meet up with some friends (okay, the night out with friends was already planned, but I did drive my new car to show off). :) As always, we had a lot of fun!

Me and my roommie Laura ready to hit the town
As always, I love spending time with the fabulous Chance! :)
Got to see my friend Robert, who I hadn't seen in ages!!

We were trying to dance to the music. Noticed I said "trying to". :)
With my girls Khrystal and Laura!
We went to the bar where my friend Jamie is a Karaoke DJ (he's awesome!). He even dedicated a song to me, Khrystal, and Laura. :)

Saturday was a busy day. I had lunch with my friend Shondell at Olive Garden and then I went ice skating with some friends at a nearby mall. I can't believe I didn't get pictures of those two events, although honestly no one needs to see me trying to ice skate. I did run over a little kid who made the mistake of cutting me off and I had no way of stopping (I was doing good to not fall down myself). I felt terrible. :(

Saturday evening we took the train downtown (well, it's technically uptown) to the AAC for the Stars game! Sadly they didn't win (boo!) but we still had fun. Glad hockey is back! I was excited to see my friends Lyn and Julie, I hadn't seen them since I got back to town a few weeks ago.

Riding the train to the AAC. It beats having to sit in traffic and pay to park (or walk many blocks for free parking).
Free shirt night!
Hockey hotties- Lyn, Julie, Monica, and me!
The Stars have been in Dallas 20 years- hard to believe!
Lyn is seriously one of my favorite peeps. She always makes me laugh!!
I know a lot of you aren't on my Facebook page, but this status applies to you all too. Thank you so much for everything (your emails with words of encouragement mean a lot), I really appreciate y'all!

This was the scene driving in to work today. It reminded me of the Hitchcock movie, The Birds.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday!!

XOXO!

Do you Instagram?

Happy Friday! We survived another work week!! Well, I did at least. I'm looking forward to another weekend of just hanging out with my friends.
So, do you use Instagram? I first started using it about a year ago just to put borders and cool effects on pictures from my iPhone. Since then, it's just another social media network I am addicted to use constantly enjoy from time to time. If you aren't familiar with Instagram, I'm gonna be lazy and make you read about it on Wikipedia here instead of typing it all out. Basically you can upload a picture from your phone, make it all fancy and nice with a border or cool effects, then you can post it for friends (or total strangers) to comment on. That being said, be careful WHAT kind of pictures you upload. I had a friend who didn't realize his pictures were public and let's just say he found out the hard way that just anyone could view them. BUT, for those wanting to use Instagram just for the cool effects and borders, you CAN make it so your pictures are private and don't post to your account (meaning only YOU can see them). To fix your Instagram privacy settings, click here for a tutorial. It's very simple.

Anyways, if you ARE on Instagram and feel like following me (that sounds so creeper-like, doesn't it), my user name is Averyfan (I know, you are shocked that would be my username, huh?) :)

Here are just some of the pictures I've posted on Instagram over the past year. If you follow my blog regularly, some of these will look familiar! :)

Some friends and I ran into former Rangers (and Braves) player Jeff Francoeur at a Walgreens. He is very lovely.

It's OK Thursday...

Linking up with my girls Neely and Amber. Be sure to check out other It's OK posts here

It's OK...

...that I keep going back and forth on what kind of car I want to buy. I'm SO indecisive. And I really hate car shopping (have I mentioned that before?) :)

...that my roommate and I made up a list of guests we would have on our talk show (if we ever had a talk show). It seems EVERYONE has a talk show these days, why not us? We would be so much more entertaining than Katie Couric (who apparently has her own talk show, who knew? Not me).

...that I've been pinning on Pinterest A LOT lately.  No really, a lot. Again, shameless plug to follow me on Pinterest here. Some of my recent pins...

This is my life.
I'm so doing this!!
True story.
Love this!
...that I've gone to bed before 9:00p twice this week.

...that I'm both excited and nervous about getting back to having my own place.

...that I've been watching some cheesy Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew TV show from the 70's on Netflix. Evidently these two guys were the "bees knees" back then.
Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson. Their hair is scaring me.
Happy Thursday! XOXO!

What I'm LOVING Wednesday

I'm loving...

That New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, and 98 Degrees are going on tour this summer. Be still my teenage heart. And by the reaction on my Twitter timeline and Facebook feed yesterday, it seems I'm not the only one who is excited about this. As my longtime readers know, I went to the New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys concert in 2011 (recap of the concert and after party here. Oh yes, you read that right, I went to an after party and got hugged by Jordan and Donnie. Be very jealous). :) So, a trip is possibly in the works for me to go visit my awesome friend Jodi to see the concert in Boston when they perform there in June. And while I'm there it just so happens that the Rangers are playing the Red Sox at Fenway, so I can catch a game too (and mark Fenway off my list of baseball stadium/ballparks I need to visit). It's all tentative right now, but we hope it happens!
For your listening enjoyment:

I'm loving...

This chapter from Psalm. I went to a service last night at my friend's church and the speaker referenced this chapter. I know these verses have helped some friends recently.

I'm loving...

That my roommate's dog Sadie feels the need to stand guard outside my bedroom or bathroom door in the mornings. Laura said Sadie is going to go through withdrawals when I move out next month.

Don't let that sweet face fool you. :)
I'm loving...

That legendary actress Shirley Temple (Shirley Temple Black now) is following me on Twitter. Okay, I doubt it's really her (until it's verified, I'm not going to believe it). But if it really IS her, how cool would that be? We shall see...she tweeted at Dick Van Dyke, so if it's really her, maybe he will confirm it (and yes, of course I follow Dick Van Dyke on Twitter, did you really need to ask??) :)

I'm loving...

That I'm having entirely too much fun with Siri on my iPhone. And yes, she does call me "Your Majesty". I mentioned the other day she was giving me attitude with her responses. It seems she's forgiven me now! :)

I'm loving...

This picture of Luke Bryan that my roommate posted on my Facebook page. And it gives me an excuse to put a picture of him on my blog! :) You are welcome...
Some men just look good in a baseball cap ... ;)
Happy Wednesday y'all!! For those of y'all in Dallas, I hope you got your free pie at Norma's Cafe today!

XOXO!
