R.I.P. George Jones

I grew up on country music (yes, old school country music, not "today's" country). I was very sad to hear about the passing of George Jones today. I remember istening to his music when I was younger. I wanted to dedicate my post to him today. R.I.P. Possum.

George Jones' guest appearance on one of my favorite songs when I was younger. I would sing this song into a hairbrush, while dancing around my room.

It's OK....

 It's OK...

...that I kinda want to go on a rant about some comments I've seen on social media over the past few days, BUT, I don't want this post to be all "serious", so I'm going to refrain. I'll save my rants for another day.

...that I'm posting a picture of Chipper Jones today since I couldn't post one yesterday on his birthday.
I love Chipper!
...that Mordecai and I have been staying up way too late watching baseball the past few nights. Happy to say the Rangers game starts at 7:10 Texas time tonight!

Hey- some people post pictures of themselves with their kids or pets. I don't have either, so you get a picture of me and my teddy bear. Don't judge.
...that there is something about Blue Bell that makes your day a little better!

...that Siri can find ways to make me laugh.

...to post a picture on social media of the vehicle that cut me off in traffic (almost hitting me).

This person had NO CLUE who they were messing with! If they had used their blinker, I would have been nice and let them in. They didn't need to cut me off (barely clearing my front bumper).
...to take a break from hiking to snap a few pictures.

...that my best friend and I possibly had an inappropriate a lengthy text conversation about Jensen Ackles.

...that I just realized I have plans every night next week. I'm exhausted already!

XOXO!

Wednesday Ramblings...

I was going to do my typical What I'm Loving Wednesday, but I just couldn't get motivated to do so (not that I'm not loving anything right now, but I just wasn't feeling it today). I almost went on a rant about bullying (especially cyber bullying), but I needed more time to put my thoughts down on paper, errr, the webpage (be prepared, that rant might happen tomorrow or Friday).

A long time ago, I used to do Wednesday Ramblings. I loved them because I would just post whatever, it didn't have to have a "theme" and I could jump around from topic to topic. I thought that fit my mood for today so here I go.

I'm so out of it that I keep forgetting it's Wednesday. I told myself I could do a Twitter Tuesday post then went, wait, it's Wednesday. I've been so tired this week. I blame part of it on the fact the Rangers are playing on the West Coast, so games don't start until 9pm Texas time. I'm not as young as I used to be (sadly). It's hard to survive on little sleep. Although I'll admit I fell asleep before the game ended last night- the melatonin I took kicked in early.

So, I'm really in need of a vacation from work (don't get me wrong, I love my job, I just need a little break). I mean, I'm going to Boston in just over a month to see my friend Jodi (and I CAN'T WAIT for that trip), but I think I almost want a "stay-cation" at some point. You know, the kind where I can just stay home and take care of all the things I keep telling myself I'm going to do. Like work on my scrapbooks. I still haven't done my Atlanta scrapbook. I took that trip THREE YEARS AGO!! I also need to work on my Spring Training scrapbook from last year and my trip to Memphis from last fall. I'm so lazy when it comes to working on those. Also, a stay-cation would allow me to just rest and not worry about being anywhere or doing anything specific. I need to look into that!

I wanted to post a picture of Chipper Jones here and wish him a happy birthday, but Blogger is freaking out on me and won't let me upload pictures (the one below I uploaded earlier because I was originally going to start my post with the Blog Challenge). I don't know what the deal is. Anyways, happy birthday Chipper, I'll post pictures of you another day! :)

I'm excited and a little sad that the season finale of Duck Dynasty is tonight. It seems like the season just started (why are the seasons of cable TV shows so short?) Anyways, I'll be watching tonight for sure!

I'm sure I could ramble on about other things, but I honestly, just don't feel like it (we all get in funks, right??) Hope everyone has a great day!
Blog Challenge Update:

Day 24: A photo of you from 2007
This is a picture of me when I went to New York in 2007. It's me having breakfast at Tiffany's (get it??) :)

Blog Challenge Update- Day 22 and Day 23

Day 22: What is in your purse/handbag?

Come on, are you REALLY surprised I have a Rangers handbag?
Starting top (l-r) makeup bag, sunglasses, gum, wallet, iPhone charger, hand sanitizers (I may be a bit OCD about clean hands), Chick Fil-A mints (these are the best mints ever, yes, I grab a handful whenever I'm there, don't judge)
Starting top (l-r) brush, hand lotion, Rangers promotional schedule, chapstick, pocket dayplanner (yes, I have this one and a bigger one I keep at my desk), Whataburger receipt from dinner last night, keys
Day 23: A picture with your family

Since I have five brothers and sisters, sixteen nieces and nephews, and five great-nephews, it's kinda hard to get a picture of ALL of them. I decided today to just post a collage of the last time my siblings and I tried to take a group picture with our parents (as you can tell, SOME members of my family are quite silly). :) I believe this was Thanksgiving 2011.

I don't know why I look so tall in that top picture on the right. I think I was on an incline or something, I'm taller than my sisters, but this makes me look taller than my Bubba, which I'm not. Yes, I have a brother that I call Bubba. :)
This is all for today, kinda short and sweet! Maybe it's because I was a little piggie and ate five slices too much pizza at lunch and am currently in a food coma. Hope you have a great day!

XOXO!

Mobile Monday and Blog Challenge Update!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! My weekend was fantastic. On Friday night I went out with my friend Landon. He and I are terrible about getting together, but I told him now that I live closer to him, we have no excuse not to meet up more often. He was a real trooper and watched the Rangers game with me after we ate dinner. I told him one of these days I'm going to make him go to an actual game! :)

Pretty sure this was his reaction to having to watch the game. ;)
I once again found myself waking up at 7am on a Saturday. How I miss the days where I could sleep in on Saturdays. Saturday afternoon I finally made it back to the Ballpark after being away from it for so long (okay, 10 days). I met up with some Twitter friends for a tailgate party before the game- it was great to finally meet some of my Twitter peeps in person!

The game was awesome, despite that fact that we almost froze (hey- 63 degrees, in the wind, is pretty chilly to this warm-blooded Texan). :) I got to see my favorite guy Cam, and his dad Chance. ;) I even got hugs from both of them! I'm a fan of hugs. Oh, and the Rangers won 5-0!
Yeah, so that guy in the weird mask and costume, I have no clue who he is. He's at every game though. I think he tries to get the crowd to cheer. Honestly, he kinda scares me a little.
After the game Monica and I were walking back to her car and we ran into my friend Lisa and her boyfriend. They had been in the Capital One Club and evidently some drunk guy got out of control and was being detained by police. He was resisting arrest and the cops had him pinned to the ground. For some reason, that entertained us for about 20 minutes because we kept watching. I kept waiting for them to use a taser on the guy, but it sadly never happened. My friend's boyfriend did snap a picture (hey, if you are going to get drunk in public, then you should realize people are going to take pictures and put them on the internet, that should teach you).
Arlington's finest had it under control!
Sunday after church I may or may not have gone to Target. And I may or may not have bought the following Rangers items. I have no self control!
Okay, so the shirt is actually a kid's size, I just found one that was XL. It was really cute!
Love these!
Blog Challenge Update:
With everything that happened last week, I didn't feel updating my challenge everyday was appropriate. I'll catch up today and tomorrow on it!

Day 18: A TV show that you have recently become addicted to.
I honestly didn't think I would watch this show, but I caught the first two episodes via Time Warner On Demand and have been watching it ever since: Bates Motel. It's hard to call this a "prequel" to Psycho because it's set in modern time, I mean, Norman Bates has an iPhone. But it is loosely based on the Hitchcock film. It's really weird, that is the best way to describe, YET, I can't quit watching it. It's on A&E on Monday nights at 9pm Texas time.

Day 19: A picture of your room.
Okay, I just posted this last week, but here it is again!

Mordecai is rocking his Rangers do-rag!
Day 20: A picture of you as a baby.

I know, I was adorable, right? :)

Day 21: What were your favorite childhood toys?
I had so many...here are just a few...

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!!

XOXO!

It's OK....

It's OK...

....to not really be in the mood to update my blog today.

...to ask for prayers for West, Texas (for those not familiar with Texas, West is the name of the town, it's over an hour south of Dallas). If you haven't heard what happened, click here to read about it. Prayers and good thoughts are very much appreciated, I have a friend who lost loved ones there.

...that I couldn't really sleep last night, so I spent a good portion of the early morning hours reading scriptures for comfort. It's been a rough week for all of us. I think I'm ready for April to be over with.

...that my sweet friends did what they could to cheer me up a little today.

Text from my friend Chance.
Lunch with my friend Laura
I'll get back to my blog challenge another time. I put this on Facebook, but I'll repeat it here. This week has been a reminder that we aren't promised tomorrow. Tell your friends and family how much you love them, every day. Hug your loved ones often. That being said, I do love all of you. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my little blog. It means more to me than you will ever know. God bless!

XOXO!

What I'm Loving and How Pinteresting...

I'm loving...

That I only paid $3.26 for my last fill-up. Okay, maybe not completely loving it, but I'm liking it more than the $3.60 prices we had a few weeks ago. And to think I was upset when we had to start paying more than $2 a gallon.

I'm loving...

My new workout shoes. I've gotten back on track with my daily workouts. I've worked out at home the past few mornings and am going to my company's gym after work today to get in some cardio and possibly one of our workout classes. Go me!

I'm loving...

This video. I'll admit, I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to how I look. Good for Dove for doing this!!

This was last week!
So true...
Love bluebonnet pictures!
You know who you are!
Need to make this!
I think a lot of us have felt this way lately.
I feel this way every morning.
Blog Challenge Update

Day 16: A picture of what you wore today.

Okay, it was hard to get a full length picture of me at work, so I had to take two. Just trust me it's a cute dress. :)

Why yes, those are Texas Rangers earrings.
Yes, I wear house slippers at my desk. They are very comfy!
Day 17: What book could you read over and over?

To Kill A Mockingbird. I love it! I read it for the first time in high school. It was probably my favorite book that I read in school.

XOXO!

Pray For Boston

I couldn't bring myself to write a typical post today. A meaningless blog challenge just doesn't seem to matter right now. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by the tragedy in Boston. Much love to you all.

XOXO!
